Thought that game was absolutely awesome, loved it was like old time hockey. When a game gets physical it sure gets the crowd going, officiating was pretty lousy, but two teams knocking heads together, and then Joey showing us what he is made of. Well we may have lost, but that game was something else.

Why should he, he been overlooked most of season and only picked by PR as other imports injured..
Too earn his spot? He’s a professional athlete. I really don’t care what’s gone on behind the scenes I expect every player to give it all when they’re on the ice regardless of off ice circumstances

We threw that away but what a game to be at. Great entertainment. The shithousery from Flames was first class. Ferguson and Alvaro are masters of it. Credit to Batch he was physical all night and took on Locke which is a crazy thing to do but did very well.

We didn't lose that because of the officials but they were bloody awful. Ben's trip was as blatant as you could get but Moseys just before OT was soft, Alderson gets called after a shoving someone from behind who held his stick and threw it away, then not to long after Crawford gets dumped on his arse with the exact same hit Alderson got done for and nothing got called. They almost scored off it as well. Truly baffling. Such a poor standard of officiating.

Not sure I liked the Devils goal horn during the shoot out. No need for it. Just like Cox on the ice during OT, no need for it.

There have been games this season when I've been properly annoyed at a loss - but this wasn't one of them. Great game! Atmosphere wasn't the best but was ok. But the game had everything. Goals, fights, a few decent hits, shit-housery off the charts. Loved it! Effort! It's all I ask for.

Thankfully the game didn't mean anything as the league is long gone. Officials were another level of awful tonight. How they could hear Mosey giving officials some constructive feedback over the thousands of voices doing the same...beats me. Bottled so many calls and it could easily have got properly nasty with a dangerous injury. A brave man boards Riley Brandt...or a coward.

Baffled at how we scored the opener and then just switched off - just coasted to the first period break and let Flames back in. No intensity after getting the opener.

Looked like McAdam feigned injury to buy some time, felt the need to come to the bench to take some pills and then once he conceded shortly after he took his leave. However he may have been actually injured - somehow.

Alvaro and Ferguson quality gamesmanship throughout - they do add something to the pantomime that games against the Flames have been this season. Hopefully the message gets to Pete that despite what he thinks, we need a tough guy.

Thought Alderson had a good game for him; Crandall again was top drawer as was the GOAT. Brandt was everywhere.

Penalties: annoyingly we did the tough stuff (beating Long) only to stick the shots in his trailing pad.

Friday games again showing a small couple issues with kids throwing a drink bottle on the ice at the end; and some first timers insisting on standing during play to get a drink or visit the loo - and then taking issue when we told them to sit down and wait 30 seconds for a break in play. Apparently according to them we should show more 'respect' to the officials - despite in the next sentence saying they couldn't follow the puck or what was going on. Would not be disappointed if they stuck to the cricket if they think questioning the officials is not really the done thing...

Not enough to ruin a good night though. Sport as entertainment and drama. Would be boring with competent officials and without pantomime villains and classy opposition making gestures to home fans on the way out.

I used to like Flames for their speed and skill. But the brand of hockey they are playing now, they can shove somewhere unmentionable. They are just a nasty bunch of goons allowed to get away with it by some, less than great officiating.

Not surprised Mosey got ejected, he had had enough of the crap calls too.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't affect much, but boy am I glad we don't have to play them again in the league.

Truly abysmal officiating. Did Rose call anything or was he just there to make up the numbers and left Ions to lose his cool and allow really injurious behaviour?

Hits on Brandt and on Ully needed punishment. Refs had lost control the minute they didn’t call the hit on Brandt. You could see how out of control Ions was in the second. He’d totally lost it, but Rose didn’t seem to step in or do anything other than observe.

On the plus side, lots of players stepping it up physically for us. Batch stood out on D as well as taking on Locke who is a particularly vile individual goading the fans as he left the ice. He’s obviously been learning from Alvaro and Ferguson.

I’m not the biggest fan of Mosey this season, but surely he was just telling the truth when pointing out how useless the refs had been

Not impressed with Chad one bit tonight if I’m honest. It was clear the boys weren’t on a leash and he did sweet fa
Minded he’s hardly iced recently, think he would have been concentrating on showing his worth on the ice rather than getting minutes in the box. The 4th line wasn’t out an awful lot either so I do get it!

The poor fella struggled big time last night. He was blowing hard. The fitness is never going to be there for him without games under his belt. It’s a tough spot for him to be in.
He needs the games to be fit and to then perform but won’t get the games because he’s not performing.

Exactly…same in any sport. The coaches should know this and take into account…we’ll see!

With you 100% I also liked the speed and skill of Flames, but I also like their physical side, and their windup approach as it sure adds entertainment. There again I have always liked Characters in hockey and wind up merchants, some may remember we had one of the best and what a player in Vezio Sacratini, he was a true master of the wind up and we all loved him for it. I also like Locke there again I like lots of players who will drop them and answer the bell, I would take him in a heartbeat,I also would be very happy to meet Flames another 4 times this season purely for the entertainment value, fortunately we often see games in different ways and long may that continue. So different opposition tonight and another chance to shake that monkey off our back, let’s go lads, and thanks for the value for money last night absolutely loved it,nothing dire about that game.

Are they building anything on the rink overflow car park soon? If not that needs to be tarmacced over and new lines put on. So many potentials spaces are lost because people arent sure where to park. Most nights a whole row is lost because cars start parking in the wrong place.

Highlights actually cover most bits from last night...well done DevilsTV. Flames fans claiming Sanford hurt McAdam should maybe put down whatever they were drinking.

McAdam slew/trip on Barrow after the goal was reviewable I thought. Flames play on Sunday and I fully expect to hear nothing from DOPS

Personal favourite from the stripes was GOAT replying to a cross check received after he scored, to deliver his own in retaliation. Fight. Alvaro loses his jersey and is escorted off the ice.

GOAT 5+2 for roughing
No illegal equipment call, no roughing or crosschecking for Alvaro...

Pantomime stuff.
