2011/12 Rumours Thread - Absolute nonsense spotted!

So, as requested, this if the official rumours thread, if it's in anyway factual take it to one of the other threads!

The same rules/guidelines/don't be a fools exist as last season and apply to this thread, although they have been slightly amended in light of recent events

1) If people don't like your rumour, don't take it personally, i'd rather not have to delete accounts if people laugh like madmen off at a rumour you post :)

2) If the signing/event has already happened it's not a rumour! If you post it here it's going to be deleted (possibly) ;)

3) Until something is confirmed in writing, it's a rumour. It doesn't matter if your best friends aunties cousin twice removed knows a players babies friends dog, until one of the official websites for the clubs has something up, it's a rumour!

Mike Prpich to Blaze - there convinced this is happening, mike told the viper fans he WILL be wearing a Blaze shirt next season apparently.

Fife Fylers to replace the Vipers in the league next season
Finnerty to leave - potentially going to Blaze

Scotty Neil told me he wants to stay in EIHL and that won't let the league force him out

The Finnerty to Blaze one seems to have some legs as everybody was saying that?

After last night's fiasco in the final minutes of the game, who can blame any of the players for thinking the officiating over here is not up to par. :?

If players (regardless of team) do leave because of that I hope they actually make it public. It might actually force the EIHL to act if it gets a really bad rep from players talking.

Statement from the Fife Flyers website:

For clarification the Club would like to state the following:

No discussion of any kind has taken place between Fife Flyers and the Elite League.

No offer has been made or discussed and consequently no offer declined.

It is difficult to understand the motivation behind any such statements and disappointing to learn of statements made in such matters regarding Fife Flyers when the Club has not been involved nor even asked to comment.

I think the biggest change in personnel will be at the Steelers. If there is truth in wage cap (and general disquiet with Simon among the players) then it will be like a new squad. If Simon stays, next season will tell us if it was him or Matsos that won that title.

Prpich says he hasn't spoken to Thommo (as of a week or so ago) but wanted to. Was also wanting to chat to G.
Phillips is looking at returning but wont be this coming year.
Finnerty has been saying for a while he'll be on the same line as Phillips next year so I guess Finnerty back to Steelers is a possibility.

Oh and Weller thought the rumour of him buying the club was great and highly amusing but totally false :)

- Before Ragan bought the steelers Ben Simon also wanted to buy them. If PR is willing to sell Ben Simon will come back in for them.
