As we enter the last two months of the regular season I thought a look at some general stats might be interesting to start off.

1). Cardiff have are currently top for come-from-behind wins this season with 13
2). Cardiff has the lowest average time-on-ice for its imports with an average of 17 minutes and 42 seconds per import skater per game
3). Cardiff has had the most shot attempts of all teams in the league (350 shots ahead of second placed Sheffield) and averages over 63 shot attempts per game
4). Cardiff has had more shots on goal than any other team in the league (over 140 more than second paled Belfast) and averages just under 40 SoG per game
5). Cardiff’s overall scoring % from shots on goal in the league is 9.06% (7th position)
6). Cardiff’s face off winning percentage in the league is 52.35% (2nd behind Belfast)
7). Cardiff has had the most fighting penalties in all games so far with 21 and the most roughing minors too
8). Cardiff is joint top for 'too many men' penalties in all games
9). Cardiff has scored a powerplay goal every 11 minutes and 5 seconds of powerplay time (9th)
10). Cardiff is the top team in the league for percentage of goals scored from the ‘inside’ slot area with 82.4% of all goals coming from there
11). Brandon Estes is third overall for average league time-on-ice per game with 25 minutes and 30 seconds per game
12). Brandon Estes is the league’s highest for shots on goal with 133 and he is also top of the league’s players for most shot attempts with 240 (Josh MacDonald is second with 225)
13). Riley Brandt remains second overall in the league for goals per 60 minutes of game time (second only to David Booth)
14). Only two other players in the league have been on ice when more goals have been scored than Evan Mosey – he’s been on the ice for 54 of Devils 128 league goals this season so far. He has also been on ice for the most 5-on-5 goals scored across the whole league
15). Cardiff has lost 81 player games to injury this season (6th overall)

Belfast doing especially well in light of that. Their latest signing, Ben Freeman, is a big forward, but his CV is pretty average (0.45 ppg from 240 ECHL games). That said, Keefe will no doubt have picked carefully from the available players willing to move to the EIHL.

Sheffield relatively injury-free so far, but have found other ways to put pressure on their roster.

I suspect this time last year we were right up at the top of the equivalent list.

Great stats Big fan.

Ultimately, we did our job against the other top 4 teams. We won more games than we lost, albeit only slightly.
Problem was that Sheffield and Nottingham didn’t come close to that against Belfast. Although we can’t complain as that was our problem in past seasons.

Also interesting in the results against the Scottish teams and the other teams.
could that be down to the Challenge Cup groups?
Belfast dropped quite a few points to the Scottish teams in the CC, but when it was league time they had ironed out those mistakes and were near perfect. Whereas our first games against the Scottish teams were in the league so those dropped points were costly?

Problem was that Sheffield and Nottingham didn’t come close to that against Belfast.
Sheffield and Nottingham each only beat Belfast once all season, as did Glasgow and Fife.
Coventry and Guildford all beat Belfast twice.
Manchester and Cardiff each won three games against them.

In 2025-26, Devils played 68 competitive games. Only 4 players played every game (Estes, Perlini, Oligny and Fournier).

Kristoff Kontos was top scorer with 21 + 45 = 66 points, and only he (1.00) and Cole Sanford (1.03) had 1 or more points per game on average.

Most goals went to Josh MacDonald (31), most assists went to Kontos (45), most PiMs went to Riley Brandt (131).

Attached is the scoring table for the season (listed in points scored order) - the 7 pre-season games are not included.

*figures are currently provisional as the Elite League hasn't yet published final corrected gamesheets for the POFW games.

For penalties, Jimmy Oligny has the most minors (28) with Tyson Helgesen seconf (27).

Helgesen had the most fights (7).

Oligny and Cole Sanford had the most 10 minute misconduct penalites (4 each).

Riley Brandt had the most game misconducts (2).

Helgesen's penalties have cost Devils the most powerplay goals against (5 from 23 powerplay opportunties given up) and Brandt's have cost 4 (all on one 5 minute poweprlay against Blaze).

Estes, Perlini and Kontos were the only regular players whose penalties didn't yield any powerplay goals against

The most roughing minors goes to Oligny (11) - he also had the most cross-checking penalties (8) and 4 fights!
