In a very similar vein to rugby, traditionally most would spend the earlier weeks/months trying to pack on muscle before moving towards a strength template. Conditioning/agility more so towards the end alongside skating and hockey specific skills, but this would all vary massively depending on a individual players needs/interests/stage of their career, i.e some may need rehabilitation for specific injuries, some may need to focus on their conditioning more than strength/size, others may not put a pair of skates on until pre-season starts.
Hiit and olympic style lifting are now a staple for athletes universally, but there is also a huge importance placed on mobility/yoga/stretching now, which are imperative in prolonging the career/body of a modern day athlete.
Lots of information available online, would recommend looking at the work Gary Roberts does with NHL players as he is considered the best in the business!
