Alex Symonds signs for Phantoms

This was from the Peterborough Phantoms site.

"New to the Phantoms roster will be highly regarded defenceman Alex Symonds. Symonds, who spent last season with the Telford Tigers, will join the club for next season having learnt his trade with Cardiff where he spent the 2007/2008 season in the Elite League with Cardiff Devils and was a member of the Great Britain U20 team in that same season. Alex moved to the EPL Tigers for the 2008/2009 season where he impressed many and Phantoms were expecting a tough battle to capture the 5ft 11” Welsh blue liner but for Alex it was a simple decision.

“Once I heard that Phantoms were looking, I was immediately interested. I knew Paul Bignell and Craig Peacock from Team GB and knew Nathan Rempel and Joe Miller from when I played in Cardiff. I’d like to think I can add something to the team and hopefully win some silverware along the way. I consider myself a defensive D-man and I like to clear the D-man zone …… and I like to hit too !”

The club welcomes Alex to the Phantoms fold."

Good Luck Alex, would have liked to have seen you back in a Devils jersey.
