Anyone got a preference on raising the Play off winners banner, would love it if it were the pre season Sheffield game but I think it will be the first competitive game involving Sandford of ccourse in cup game.

the Guildford game to show sanford what he'll be missing for this season
This will be the game where Sanford scores a hatrick against the Devils. Best way to respond to any potential bad reception from fans.Hopefully he will be treated with the respect he deserves.

Wild prediction for that first home game against Guildford
Devils 2 Flames 3

How he is received is down to him as well. Busch has acted like a clown every time he has come back and has sullied any positive legacy he had. Britain never pulled his weight here and he let it become a chip on his shoulder when he was let go.

Sanford won titles.

These attitudes to former players amaze me sometimes. I mean whatever happened to once a Devil always a Devil. Players give their all for the teams they play for and deserve our respect for the time they had with us. Careers are short and not well paid in comparison to other leagues/sports.
Whilst I may have thought it was time to move on from some of them I will still give a round of applause when they line up against us.

Absolutely spot on, and well explained.

So Busch comes back gets kicked out game after game against us, we are supposed to what....clap him off?

They get a clap when they come back first time. After that they get judged by their actions and behaviour.

Once a Devil Always a Devil? Not when they come back and want to take a dump on our ice. Respect is earned, and can be lost in a second.

I have no doubt that Sanford will be a class act, and will score against us a few times this season. But I doubt that he'll mouth off at the fans, or cup his ears.....he's not Vallerand.

End of the day, 90% of players are mercenaries and don't care about the organisation or fans. A few do, and we love those guys. But I'm starting to feel that Once a Devil etc is just as much rubbish as Hockey Family/Family sport stuff, cliche BS.

I believe busch got thrown out the first 2 games he played for flames at the vindico , can't skate around with cheap shots and acting a clown to the club and fans that supported him the time he was here, think his 2nd time he got thrown out was a punch from the bench , a melee in front of him .
