You’re assuming 4 line hockey I think.

Loads of Brits already in the EIHL tied to clubs (5/6 per team) and there are a load of decent Brits in the NIHL that could step up and play 3rd/4th line, so those guys are the ones to step up via a draft system. Where there’s a will there’s a way - for the good of the game.

In the old Heineken days we found enough Brits to supplement teams with just 3 imports - and the rinks were rammed and it was as exciting if not more so than today.

i would also add that with more opportunities for Brits, the outcome is more people would take up the sport , i think it would only take one season to stabilise. also players that have come to the end of their careers would get an extra chance to carry on . The older ones would drop down, and the younger ones step up. There's young talent out there that never get a chance.

For the life of me, I don't get why there is no Nations tournament. England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, I can't see why it would not be cost-effective to run one. Plus showcase talent. 1 weekend every 2 years. i would have thought there would be tv interest in it.

Rumours have been circulating that the EIHL are working on the viability of a European Super League !!
Interesting. I wonder what teams would potentially enter this league.

Is there an article or anything i could read?
Ive said for a few years that they should have some sort of cross competition with the French league

Not gonna mention any names as it’s still in the embryo stage, top two or three Elite league sides play european sides so say Devils travel to play a German team over a weekend then the German team play over here Saturday and Sunday. Eight teams in the league

Absolutely England v Scotland games were replaced by the farcical 3rd/4th place game before the play off Final, you know the game that no one wants to play in, the game that no one gives a toss about, the game that apparently makes the final tickets more reasonably priced as it’s for 4 games not 3, the game that rips off fans as you have to buy it.

Spot on and the players would rather stay in bed I'm sure after a tough weekend , its farcical and embarrassing.

If only Cardiff was getting a new arena that could facilitate similar sponsorship opportunities and growth as seen in Belfast.

Oh hang on.

So immensely frustrating watching things play out. The short sightedness and financial constraints of guaranteed immediate returns is suffocating to what the Devils have threatened to become for nearly 30 years if just given a genuine opportunity.

It’s called the continental cup that everyone moans about
I’ve never once moaned about Conti Cup :)

Also, I don’t mean a two weekend playoffs style thing, I mean full league.

It would be great to have our best teams (more than just one, unlike Conti cup) compete with the teams from those leagues.

Just like they do in Hungary and Romania where they play Erste Liga and also their respective national leagues.

Confirmed that no EIHL team in the CHL next season. Sounds like the Giants will have first dibs on the Continental Cup, and if they don't fancy it then we are probably next.
