Disgraceful from Belfast. Everyone knows when the CHL have their fixture blocks and Belfast went ahead and booked in concerts during those dates regardless.

Let’s not forget this is the second time Belfast have put money before CHL as they previously considered declining the CHL. It was only when Cardiff were given a spot too that they decided to enter after all.

Sheffield Nottingham and Cardiff have done so much to raise the impression of the EIHL within the CHL and yet you have Belfast treating it with such disrespect season after season.

Looking forward to Belfast trying to ruin the Conti Cup for EIHL teams too this season.

Devils should offer to take up the spot as it’s invitational anyway.
We would take it seriously and take a load of support to the away fixtures and not just the 6 that Belfast usually take!

This was a CHL decision, not a Belfast decision from what I understand. Extremely poor move by the CHL. The EIHL standard of play has become very competitive in CHL games and we’re the only league bringing fans to first round games. Backwards thinking or the old guard fearing our teams.

Surely it’s a case of the CHL choosing their fixture blocks as they do every season and expecting clubs to stick to them?

Belfast had already booked in concerts so wanted to pick and choose their home dates.
Belfast can’t really expect the CHL to change their rules to accommodate them else the other teams would all be trying it.

Where does this leave us with the Conti cup? Im assuming Giants will take that spot?
Belfast want the conti cup as in fairness any EIHL team are not gonna win it are they. Belfast would have a chance of winning the conti cup to keep up with the devills and panthers winning it.

Belfast previously hosted the semi-final and final so played the whole tournament at home.
And still bottled it.
Looking at the dates of last years rounds, they maybe away due to events booked in…

January not much announced at the SSE as yet but doesn’t say events not booked in.
