Out of all the ones thats left this is a surprise to me, he gave everything to the badge , got injured during fights came back and started hitting like a train again, he will be missed in that dept, opposing players knew he was on the ice and backed off taking liberties on devils players, if brandt dont come back we are screwed in the hits dept.
Surely it's not just Brandt left to be announced. I appreciate we don't have the same budget as Belfast or Sheffield but to be honest the group of forwards (If it is just Brandt left to be announced) doesn't fill me with confidence as far as a title challenge is concerned. We look very strong at the back end (and that's possibly where the budget has gone) but our group of forwards just looks a bit Safe. I've got no concerns about their work ethic or how defensively responsible they're going to be but in my opinion we will be missing a bit of wow factor in the forwards.
Put it this way, I would put money on it that Keefe and Fox would look at our roster and think " Their strength in net and their depth on defence worries me a bit, they look like they're lacking one or two match winners up front though".

Defense is epic but forwards after everything said about needing extra revenue to sign 2 epic snipers, were has that extra 20% gone? Just on resigning fees? Before some say costs have gone up, dont forget the facilities fee that been added, I personally think we have gone backwards from forwards side of it. I hope I am wrong but we are in for a rough season.
so we lose perlini who was probably on good money and only bring in four new players,not one goal scorer signed.we are going to struggle for offence again this season.i was expecting at least two quality snipers given the rise in season ticket money.this team is no way an upgrade on last years team apart from welsh on d.
Chill out folks we have people in charge that know, not think they know where we are going and what we are capable of. Armchair coaches never won jack all, but the pros have. We won two trophies last season and came runners up for a third with maybe the 4th /5th highest budget in the league . The season starts shortly get your arse into gear and embrace the new season, and enjoy what we have been missing, HAPPYHOCKEY DAYS
I know I've already said it but you guys are sleeping on Mieho and Caron. The gap between the ECHL and higher leagues like the AHL and the Liiga is massive. Take a look at the vast majority of the players in our league and they were very good ECHL scorers but they couldn't play at all in the AHL. Our league's leading scorer last year had three points in his lone AHL season. We want players that can play in all situations against the best competition. That's why Thommo has gone after forwards from higher leagues. He firmly believes that they'll be able to not only score more than the players that left but also be way more impactful in all three zones and against the very top teams. Only time will tell but to say that our forwards have stepped back a mile is a wild take if you follow hockey.
