Cardiff Devils Confirmed Signings & Departures 2026/27

Cardiff Devils announce the signing off Jake Sacratini the son of former devil Vezio Sacratini.

Can anybody on here remember if it was Vezio Sacritini who had his jaw/teeth smashed up in a game when he played for the Devils? I'll never forget it. I was at a game (in the centre of Cardiff) many years ago, and a fast skillful player with a name like that took a puck full on in the face. I'll never forget it. He skatded off screaming with blood pouring out and spent the night in hospital (at least) having his teeth/jaw rebuilt. Anybody remember?

Great news - does make you wonder re the makeup of the rest of the D though.

Welsh in but at whose expense? Surely not straight for MacLean?

Apparently Estes' wife has set up a business in Cardiff so fingers crossed
Means nothing, seem to remember hendos wife/partner got job as a teacher , and hendo told he wasn't wanted . Don't think lordo and hendo seen eye to eye after that which resulted in their scrap on the ice which was anticipated.

As long as helgeson returns, then work around him. Think estes will stay as rumours fourns is not.
Rumour is that Helgy will require a few months to recover from his surgery early season. Hopefully that means MacLean is the only one we lose, with Welsh replacing him! Offers great depth and means Mosey can play the dual role later in the season if required.

I think the British status is the only thing that’s giving him a shot. As an import there’s no way we’d be looking at NCAAIII players.
OK, so why would that be a source of criticism? I think too much is being made of comparing him to his Father. Peak Vez is a top line EIHL forward all day. Jake's comparisons should be with Duggy, Benny D and Bayley really. It's his first pro contract, he tickes a heck of a Brit box for us with his experience and yes, he does come from a family with a great lineage and more importantly, a great attitude from everything I have seen. This is Todd and Thommo at their crafty best for me.

If harewood hasn't the promised full time devils call up , he will look elsewhere, he's proved he's capable in the games he played last season, and that would give us possible 4 welsh players in the squad, Davis, harewood, sacratini, and Harry Thomas.
Lots of good comments from GB fans in Zurich about Harewood. Not disgraced himself at all. Deserves FT contract.
