Well the evidence 9 games into the season suggests this team can't cut the mustard. If they could why would Adams be reading the riot act, reminding players of their responsibilities and threatening changes if things don't improve?! Such actions hardly point to all being rosy in the camp. Some people seem to accept mid to lower table mediocrity as the norm, after the past few years. I don't and I expect more from a Devils team, especially when the rest of the club are doing such great things off the ice.
Losing 3 on the spin including 2 at home would be the catalyst any good coach would need to jolly his team along a bit. I'm on record as expressing my doubts about 2 positions within the team.They are just my doubts and I am always mindful of expressing things in that manner. I am not one for sweeping generalisations or predicting doom. Nor for that matter am I content to settle for mediocrity either as my understanding of your inferences.
I do believe we have a decent enough team and coach. A very new team which needs to fully understand the way it would be best employed in playing. I am not sure whether Vothers drastic penalties have inhibited the rest of the team but at the moment we are lacking something on ice for sure. I also think that G could supply that missing something whilst his captain is out and perhaps Poper could run the bench whilst it remains as such.

I would say the fact that Adams is reading the riot act to them is an indication he believes the team is good enough for a top 3 finish but are underachieving.

I wouldn't press all the panic buttons at once and sack players now. I would however start warning players they need to improve immediately - and if two weeks we haven't seen an improvement I would like Adams to start enquiring about any available players.

this team with one chage could be a very very good team..
from the back to the front we have a core of good players maybe not great but good
Aubry has proven himself a good goalie but he does have a weekness stick side and sometimes unfortunatley goes to sleep but Jody does to and i remember people were gutted when we didnt sign him
Hartwick has the capability i belive of being a very good d man with the potential to carry the puck forward well.
big mac i think has stepped up to defend his team pretty well in the absence of the vother.
Prprich and cambell are working their socks off shift after shift and scoring goals
jay in his little time has proven he is going to be a very very good import for us..
the brits may not be the best in the league but aslong as they dont conceed many, work their socks off and chip in with one or two then we dont have much to complain about..
i have issues with two players.... Hicks has been useless and seems over weight and quite lazy and i think g gave him the C to see if he responded by leading but it has not worked and i honest think he should be put on notice... sorry to say this but its only what the majority of devils fans are thinking.
the other player is likit.. dont get me wrong this guy controls the PP but i am afraid that is not enough.. this guy was supposed to be our new tyson but i can not see him chipping in with half as many assists or goals as ty did last season.. i really rated ty and i think this season we have short change....
