You are quite right, Fife at home are a match for anyone, however, you've more or less answered your own question. Lord / Franny got the game plan wrong. We were simply not physical enough and it's no good going on about game schedules, other teams have had similar runs of games in short periods of time. We didn't lose it in the third, in my opinion we lost it in the 1st & 2nd by not scoring goals. Get a couple of goals up against a team like Fife on their own pad and they tend to lose the rag and concede pens. We stood off them and that's where we lost it. Other than that, nice to see you agree with the other 95% of my original post. 
I kinda like the roller-coaster ride this sport gives me. Turning up ever game on a sure thing would be boring, l prefer our team, management and owners philosophy too that of Sheffield's. Winning is important but I'd like also to be entertained, stressed and excited. If there was a trophy for achieving that, we'd be the only contenders.
What I really like about Lord is that he sticks by his players. Other coaches slag them off which can be really demoralising.
Although it all went wrong I don't think a lack of player effort was the cause. Yes they didnt look fresh but considering the number of games they have played, I thought the effort was pretty good even if the execution was not.

So was it a brilliant idea to travel to france and play 2 extra games if we are blaming the tough schedule? :shock: im sorry but some of the excuses for that performance we had a poor game plan last night. And the players didn't try to mix it up at all to get the crowd going or change the momentum. We almost looked cocky and didn't play to our strengths. Our breakout passing was terrible and in reality we might as well have played hudson and hotham as wingers and be done with it!
Also, for clarity and for everyone's sake, i think we have a great ownership group. Im just not sure we need to write it on almost every thread :lol:

I do think the lines are being messed about with far too much. Not sure why Salters played most of the game on the left wing when he has played all season long on the right. As for players being rotated then for me I would have to say Russell before some of the other players mentioned. It wasn't until the 2nd period that I noticed him even on the ice
Hervato also an EU, so a bit of room to budge with resting Euros. Hence why Kurka was rested a couple of weeks ago.
As for Russell, I think he's been our best player over the last 3 weeks.
And I think culligan needs to play every game, but in the forward lines where possible. Have we seen Trevs last game?

If the coaches are rotating players properly and honestly based on performance, other players should be scratched .If Trevor is injured then fair enough but has that been made clear?
As others have said, Trevor has been one of our most dependable d men recently....simple plays, good first pass and adds intimidation and momentum.
Hendrikx, Haddad and Bowns were our outstanding players in last season's CC Final. Hope the coaches remember that.

Not that strange. Russell is doing a lot of the small details not ordinarily recognisable to people and from what I've seen is one off the most consistent players. He is winning draws for starters. I'd rate him our best face off guy. His positioning is good. His defensive coverage is good. He's one of only a couple scoring in the clutch part of the season. I'd put him up there as leading the last three weeks also.
The one thing I don't like is putting Martin, Mo and Lordo back together. It's the first sign of pressure getting to Lordo as he still believes in that line but if you lose all production on the other two lines they will flop. Hold your nerve Lordo and trust the players. They can do it. Regroup this week. Get into the psychology of the team that it's not about squeezing your stick for fear of losing. Losing means nothing other than you also took part. It's about a will to win so strong you make yourselves unbeatable. Get the guys to a point they will do exactly what it takes to get to that winning feeling because they want to say they did what it took, they earned it the hard way, they went to the wall and smiled and went through it. They took the extra stride to block the shot, make the hit, get to the back check and bury the rebound. Enjoy this moment Devils. You play the hardest shifts of your professional careers these next six games and you'll know what it means when you hug your team mates on that last day.
God I miss giving Captains Speeches.

As pretty much everyone else has said, Saturday night was a bitterly disappointing way to end our time in the BBT. Implications for the league aside, I thought it was a shame they guys couldn't get the win for the service that building has provided over the years.
Like many others have said and expressed, I don't think we were good enough in a lot of areas, but after having watched the interview with Lordo after the game it's clear he was as gutted as the rest of us. Credit to him for being so honest, and there's no doubt in my mind that anyone who needs reminding that they're there to play and to win for this club will have that conversation with him.
Whether it's down to the travel or not (and yes, we're not the only team to travel), fact is there's been another little slump at a crucial time - I genuinely think we'll see a different team in our next game, and they'll be back to playing like we all know they can. In Lordo we trust.
