Devils Vs Blaze - PO 1/4 Final - 12th April 26 - FO 17:00

Great game to finish the home season.
Thought we came out with the perfect mentality. No sitting on that one goal lead - we wanted to score more and we did with pretty much the first attack of the game. For 15 minutes we were absolutely relentless and Coventry couldn't get near our goal. Unsurprisingly they started a lot of stickwork off the puck which the officials either didn't spot or chose to ignore. I was worried that either someone would get injured or we would lose our cool but to be fair to the team they stuck up for each other without crossing the line. Period ended fairly even but I'm guessing they would have been disappointed not to be more ahead.
Second period - well for 10 minutes it was nearly perfect hockey. There was a big momentum switch early on though when Blaze ended up with a 3 on 1 and looked destined to equalise on the night only for Stoever to make a great save. We then end up on the powerplay and when McDonald scrambles it in we're suddenly 2-0 up instead of 1-1. And then for 5 minutes we were absolutely relentless, Martin with another goal on the PP and then Brandt smashing a rebound in to all but kill off the tie.
A shame Coventry broke the shut out with 10 minutes to go but the game was seen out with ease from the Devils.
And hopefully we can put to bed finally the argument that the atmosphere in the arena is poor. It was excellent last night.

I agree…. and what’s his crime? Trying to create some noise for the team. The personal attack is just unwarranted.
I couldn’t do what he does. I can barely bring myself to chant. I just don’t have that in me. I’m also tired of the same old “let’s go Devils" chants I heard from 1986. Block 13 (of which this guy is a key part) have modernised the singing. Not to yobbish football levels but to something players are responding to.
Poor old Blaze have “come on you blaze” and “when the blaze go skating in” and that’s it.
I think this guy, and Block 13, do a cracking job.

By sounds of his voice and choice of words , he didnt seem to bothered, they not been playing well since winning the lge, its as if the players were ready for an early summer, you'd think giants would've made an effort to get to finals or were they worried about what happened last playoffs and got stuffed by us. Poor show .
