Olechefski and MacDonald need to find their way into the game. Clan have a physical team as always. Even Ully nailed Barrow

Got out jail tonight. Just didn't seem at the races. Or we weren't allowed to be.
Couldn't agree more. We definitely got away with one there. So much to work on, some nice flashes of good play but still struggling to see the threat to the league's best teams. Clan played Clan hockey. Finished every check and gave 100% each shift but ultimately lacked that bit of quality. I'd be interested to see the face off stats as it felt like we lost a fair few or at least we seemed to lose them when we really needed them. MacWilliam just leads the team in every aspect of play - his grit, his determination and physicality. It was interesting to see Barrow and Ully go at each other. Ully absolutely creamed Barrow. Not like him at all.

Funny how we all see things differently I thought was a good competitive game with both teams playing good entertaining, physical hockey. Thought Bowns and Bow were outstanding keeping the score down and I'd say overall we were good value for the W. Can see some great match ups with the Clan this season and will chose to watch that style rather than the Danny Stewart trap of Nottingham.

I thought defensively we were hot tonight, Macwilliam is a beast and was superb, and Batch and Fournier also great. Think we might need to manage Richardsons game time this season however, the hockey brain is still there but think father time is catching up with him and his legs are slowing down.

Forwards: Macdonald, Duke and the GOAT were my standouts...we saw more of O'brien today but I think a lot more to come from him, also same for olifcheski. Perlini concerned me tonight, at times he looked stuck into the ice when Clan had the puck, he really needs to get his legs moving and muck in defensively.

The refereeing was awful tonight, I'm all for letting the game flow but some very dangerous hits through the numbers by the Clan went unpunished tonight or not dealt with adequately. Could even see Joey Martin losing his cool with them at one point.

Very much an early season game where lines aren't settled, forwards not used to each other etc

Couple of moments won us that game, the extra pass to move Bow laterally and Duke with the finish. Nobody had a bad game but few had a good game. Bodes well for once they have settled and figured each other out.

Anybody who watched on stream able to give some insight into two blatant boarding calls that were missed - or at least looked like it. Not sure how tripping or a cross check from behind causing the player to fall dangerously into the boards could be anything other than boarding?

But it wouldn't be EIHL hockey without something to comment about the officiating.

Good to see fellow STHs after a few months off, hello lurkers!

Got there in the end...First period bit cagey and devils got hit off the puck a lot ..clan are a big side and we got bullied a few times..I thought period 60 40 in clan's favour...3rd period we didn't start playing until 10 mins to go . Thought duggan and mosey had good game and we'll done Ben stepping up after a hit on duggan saying that a shoulder to shoulder hit I thought and on we go to guildford in the cup tomorrow..

I thought we had a cracking first period and the fell off during the second, pretty decent third period from us but like someone else mentioned, the officals are just... Getting worse.

Mosey and Duggan I thought both played like pitbull off the leash in a hen house, they were everywhere and all up in clans business.

Gourley stood out as a guy who doesn't take kind to anyone trying to take liberties, Davies showing teeth as well, O'brien I didn't really notice much same as Perlini.

Duke is just class and Martin could of easily got the empty netter tonight but set up McDonald instead, pure class from the goat.

Enjoyed the game. Clan will upset a few teams this year, glad it wasn't us tonight. Duggs seems like a man possessed at the moment. He was all over the ice as was Mosey. This team has so much potential, I'm looking forward to seeing it when everything clicks.

Oh, and in true Steelers style. "Say we are number one, say we are number one"

Plenty of poor calls missed by the officials. Two that stand out….one was on Davies and the other on Duke. Ben got hit by a player not even involved in the play. He chased down the puck along the half wall, gave up the chase then 77 who wasn’t even involved in the play levels him when he wasn’t prepared or knowing a hit was coming. Clear interference. Duke then got his head rammed into the boards. They review the play and come away with a call of cross checking and two minutes. Very very concerning to see player safety taken so lightly,

Just seen the highlights and yet again they only show the goals...its not all about goals where we're the hits didn't even show Ben roughing it up.. very poor...
