Scoreline flattered us, couple of empty netters. Great to see another Barrow scrap.

On a side note, block 11 was a nightmare with the kids there. One had a vuvenzela thing (horn) and another couple of them were a screeching like banshees at random times. Ears are ringing.

Really good game back and forth a lot, very fast game 5 very big hits and a fight, Barrow putting Gosselin in his place. Good game and very enjoyable.

Got out of jail there against a very good well organised flames, could've gone either way tbh, think barrows scrap gave us the edge to up our game and it worked thanks to #63 bit of more than he could chew with barrow winning the tilt easily .good to see #57 And # 42 back , hope they play v fife Sunday , then thommo got a headache before Sheffield next Saturday .

Why oh why does it take nearly 4 mins to have a review we were well on top with our best period of hockey , to me flames were guilty of slowing the whole process down wether they called the review or not , alvaro, and busch main culprits back and fore to dixon , it's crazy it took the momentum out of the game, talk about mind games, the officials gave a goal in play, just accept it, think there should be a rule that if a coach wants a review he got 30 secs to decide, otherwise on ice decision stands , it's just not last nights game it's most games, very annoying on times .Just saying.

The times officials are taking to make a decision is ridiculous, why anyone needs to watch the same footage 15/20 times is overkill, and why do if there’s a reason do they need headphones, do they need to hear the commentary or is there a Mission Control on the balcony.

Let’s be honest the officials aren’t professional either. Bit of pocket money around day jobs.
I’ll give them as much shit as anyone else but I’ll always remember they aren’t professional and I’m not sure we can expect them to be any better than they are.

No problem with taking time over the actual review in order to come to a correct decision. Looking at highlights it seems the puck was kicked in by MacDonald's shin, so disallowing it was correct.

However the time allowed for the coach to decide to call for review is an issue. It was several minutes in this case. A cricket style 30 or 60 second window to call for a review sounds reasonable to me. Put a clock on the screen as soon as a goal is called and give the coach a highly visible card to hold up if he wants to review, so everyone knows what's going on. The countdown can be cancelled immediately if there's no doubt about the goal and move straight on with the FO.

Brilliant suggestion, it just pees me off the length of time it takes to review, especially when teams that scored a goal got the momentum , rather than wait 4 to 5 mins and start playing with all the momentum gone out the window

They are in professional league, so they should and they can, it all depends what they put in to it is what they get out of it. Being a ref is not an born gift, it what you put into it and apply. Another issue is refs doing the same team too often, bit like game 7 in the playoffs, teams had enough of each other and calls start getting personal, human nature

It’s not the officials fault they aren’t professionals in a professional league that’s down to the EIHL.

If we want professional refs that’s the game night costs going up to cover it.

If we want more rotation of the officials you’ll probably end up loosing officials from the roaster.

I’ll say it again on match night I give them as hard a time as the next fan but understand that’s the standard and way it works in this league.
