Devils Vs Flyers - League - 11th Oct 24 - FO 19:30

Is anyone else baffled by the regularity of face off infraction warnings that are given against the Devils week in week out with this season’s linos?

Tonight, the only face off infraction warning given against the Flyers was for an ultra late change to face off line up (which was correctly identified and called), but pretty much every other face off had either Lino penalising the Devils centre man for ??? (answers on a postcard)

Personally I'd like to thank the bus driver from Parks of Hamilton coaches for emptying the bus toilet tank in the layby outside the arena. The stench of stale urine was positively delightful.

Great game tonight Davies with his 2 goals and his work ethic is amazing to watch, even if Duggan did throw him into the plexi after he scored as a way of celebrating the goal lol

Gourley is definitely one to watch, doesn't back down from anyone and put his body in the line of fire every time Fife took a shot at the net.

Brandt looks refreshed and after we took a hit that should of been called by the officals he made it well known that he was on the ice by delivering two bone crunching hits that seemed to make Fife panic and back off.

Macwilliam also showing class with absorbing open ice hits like they are nothing and showing sportsmanship when the Fife player went down and couldn't get to his feet, he kept his eyes on the puck and did his job while still making sure the Fife player didn't take any unnecessary damage.

Loving this team, can't wai for everyone to be 100% so we can showcase just how great this team actually is!

To echo everyone’s comments - great display last night and it felt that we could have reached higher gears if we had to. And with so much talent not playing to add to this too, it’s pretty exciting stuff.

Lots of good performances, but Fournier was exceptional for me last night. The way he glides past players at pace looks effortless and super composed! Great to see Brandt back. ZOB and Sanford together look lethal as others have mentioned already, Gourley looks a fantastic find.

Hopefully we can do the business again the next couple of days!

I agree there's reason for optimism, some real talent on the sidelines with injury. I am starting to worry that Shinkaruk may not play as many games as we want, that's based on no evidence whatsoever but I recall his injury problems from previous seasons.

In addition there's some real quality that has started slowly, Perlini and Fournier could take us to the next level when they start firing. But they are still contributing with assists. Gleason's defensive work has improved since he's been away, just need that confidence that comes from a coast-to-coast or one going in off his backside

As others have said, a very solid win over a team looking to hit back after a heavy defeat midweek.

If I was going to be overly critical I would say we were a bit too offensive when 4-1 up and nearly let Fife back into the game. But overall a professional win despite missing several key players.

Watched the webcast yesterday as am away, that guy on the megaphone sounds as pissed as a fart on the webcast. It sounds like being at a football match, horrible sound.

Oh no, not a football match! In all seriousness, whilst people may not like the sound you’ve got to respect the people making an effort to improve the atmosphere. If it can improve the match night experience I’m all for it.

I wasn’t knocking the megaphone, it’s just the sound on the effect mics which you hear on the webcast sounded like someone pissed

That’s the problem though. In my opinion, the megaphone kills the atmosphere stone dead. It’s the only thing you can hear when it’s in use and because of that, nobody else bothers trying. In fairness, the out of tune guy at least stopped using the damn thing after the first period.
