After our Friday trip to sunny Manchester the Devils will face the Fife Flyers at home in the Vindico on Saturday night. Flyers are yet to win in the league, and Devils have yet to lose, but they've each only played one game so its probably not the best statistic.

I've booked a space over at Asda - is it easy enough to walk across to the Vindico from that car park? Aware that the big roundabout there is in the middle!

Possible safest route is to go behind Asda and behind Morrisons so you walk along the flats if that makes sense. Theres a path all the way around to the back of the rink. Cut through the rink staff parking and you’re in,

That’s great - thanks. Looks like I may not need it tomorrow then but that’s good to know as this is likely to happen a number of times over the season again I assume.

Like two teams from different leagues tonight. Don't know what's going on with the quality of the ice though - the number of times players from both teams lost the puck off the stick while just skating was crazy & there was some emergency fire extinguisher aided repairs in the 2nd break

Definitely a weird game tonight, Fife looked short benched and we looked like we kept taking our foot off the gas to put it to bed early, but 2 points is 2 points!

The more I see this Devils team, the bigger the smile I have. Some of the puck possession and passing was sublime tonight and we still don't have a full squad! Loved PR shushing Tom Coolen.. Look at the stats 52 SOG to 22 says it all. 5 past Owen, but without him it could have been so many more.

Enjoyed that game passing to stick was best I've seen for years and it's getting better every game ..some players pass the puck without looking knowing a player is there in the slot. .thought fife give it there all and look a bit better than last season unfortunately that 8 hour bus ride caught up with them in 3rd period ..and good to see mcwilliam stepping up and not taking a penalty. Good hockey sense. Great win boys.

Missed the first 10 mins or so, but what I did see was pretty much complete domination. If we’d scored a 3rd and 4th in that second period when we were camped in their zone it could have been double-figures.

Instead, midway through the 3rd period the Flyers scored completely against the run of play to hint at a comeback. In recent seasons we might have let them back into the game. Instead we moved up a couple of gears and scored two quick goals to kill off the game.

Im starting to really, really like this team.

Zach O'Brien makes hockey look easy....or at least that he finds it easy. Excited to see his numbers at the end of the season.

Thought Bowns made our first period look better than it was, could easily have conceded a couple, when we weren't really putting away the chances we created.

Great night all round, only couple negatives were I thought Batch was off the pace to play centre, and Gleason didn't have a good game tbh, still waiting to see the Fournier of pre-Covid.

Will come in time though, it's early season after all.

We played an under strength Flyers team last night, but that apart we were so so good. I really like this team and to know they are going to get better is a huge bonus. Like Diablo has already stated the more you watch this team the better they look, I really like every new signing we have, and they are all an upgrade on last season put them with the lads that came back and we are one very good hockey team. I believe our future is looking very positive, and it’s a good feeling for all fans to watch this very entertaining team, love it.
HAPPY HOCKEY DAYS.

Definitely humidity factor with the ice last night. Had almost continuous fog driving back to Pembs so lots of moisture in the air in South Wales. I’ve been to 3 of our 4 games past couple of weekends and for first time probably since Lordo I feel we have threat from every line. The guys we’ve kept are playing with greater intensity and purpose, the guys we’ve brought in are serious players. Recruitment and retention seem really well thought out. So far so good! Will be interesting to see how we get on against the heavier tests that are likely to define our season - Belfast, Sheffield (& Panthers away!).
