I like Mosey, but he is not the answer to what I see as our D misfiring unfortunately, and with such a serious injury, it seems likely he won’t be back this year ( I could be wrong of course) if so, who does he come in for ? We already have speed in Fournier and Reddick to a certain extent, but it’s not just speed, there’s more to it than that. Our D have been caught out of position so many times in EIHL games it’s worrying. We do not have anyone who gives off any authority as a stay at home, hard to get by D man. It’s embarrassing how many times this season we have allowed forwards to get right in front of Bowns instead of being removed from that position forcefully ( without fouling ) and how many times we have been caught out of position, even on our own power plays.I was never expecting ( but hoping for ) an exact replacement for someone as good as Strachan, but we are way off his standard of play at this time which is hugely important.
I repeated this for weeks and all I got was people moaning at me...

Yesterday alone we could have conceded 4/5 goals on our power play. This is not acceptable and needs to be fixed to win the league

I agree that the D looks suspect this year but yesterday wouldn't factor into that assessment imo. Even if our d was faster and stronger technically, we still would be facing a team much much better in terms of quality. I'm not worried about the two Frolunda results. For me, it was a privilege to see some of the top talent in Europe play at our rink. Saying that, the d does concern me in terms of our domestic season. We will need to tighten up if we're to win the league. I think we can do it with the current group because the other top teams are also dropping points, however I would prefer to have had a calming presence at the back to steady the ship.

Nothing in our league can be compared to last nights opponents, or our performance. After playing at that speed for 2 periods, it’s not surprising we were out on our legs, we done very well in the first 2, but we were always chasing the puck, and that certainly wears you out. Frolunda were the best team I have ever seen in Cardiff and were full of pure class, speed, talent, size, they had it all and quite rightly with such a budget. So it’s back to the Meat and Potatoes of the league now, playing against our British rivals, starting with our local rivals Panthers.

Yep. Real valiant effort against the best team I have seen in 30 years in Cardiff. There were a lot of positives for me. We were close for two periods, Fournier was actually faster than many of their players and with McNamee back the lines were clicking a lot better again.
That being said I do share some concerns about the D. We have had a lot of problems breaking out this year with passes going behind the forwards. We have also got caught on way too many breakaways. Im sure Lordo will sort it out though and then we can tear the league apart.

I don’t think anyone is arguing about the quality of FroLinda and how well we have competed in the CHL overall.
you maybe missed my question to you earlier, so, are you satisfied with our D this year ? I see the current line up of D as inferior to what we have had on the past 3 seasons. Just my opinion and hope I’m proven wrong.

For me our D are a little too quick to jump in to the play, we usually get away with it, but have been caught out a lot this season. I guess if we had Evan back we would have a little more pace to get back. I don't think the Devils want to play with stay at home D men. Given our league position, who could argue with them.

One reason why we are missing Evan Mosey so much.... a breakout specialist with tremendous speed and Puck handling skills. All the responsibility is with Fourns to fulfill this function at the mo.

We've got enough "breakout specialists" - what we really need is a couple more defencemen who can defend properly and not get caught out of position time and time again.
