Steelers out foxed once again in our barn. Well done boys after last night's result.. feel sorry for saucerman but pure accident from what I seen . Sheffield were intent to injure our players but lost the plot. Gonna be some meaty games with them this season.. anyone know if that's their heaviest defeat on our shores this season...?

Barrow was great but Duke had to be MOTM, he scored, he hit, was by far our most dangerous player.

First 30 was a bit slow, including our 5 minutes powerplay. PP stood for pedestrian and predicable. Steelers put guys in the passing lanes and we struggled to set up and get any chances really.

Last 30 minutes though was very good. Physical, 2 very well taken goals, and one slightly lucky one. Hilarious to see Brandt score against them.

Steelers didn't look great to me. Very effective powerplay they had but 5 on 5, Carruth was very quiet, they didn't really look like scoring. They were missing one of their main men, but so were we. Enjoyable game all round and great result.

Having watched a few of their games now. Minus the CHL I don’t see a lot to like about this Steelers team. Defensively a lot worse than last season, with the same offensively. The likes of Leavens, Janatuinen and Miceli ghosted.

Fantastic result and hard earned win! Lots of excellent, gritty performances but to echo what others are saying, Duke was outstanding - Skilled, scores, hits, always asking for the puck! That’s what it’s all about!! Superb, and superb all round performance!

Barrow really has come on leaps and bounds these last 12 months or so, his carrying of the puck on the break and shielding it is fantastic - reminds me of Joey Haddad a bit. His work rate is phenomenal and I think we are finally starting to see that he can be a top 6 forward for us for a few years yet.

But this team have been crying out for a guy who can grab a game by the scruff of the neck and turn a game around almost single handed. He had a great start to the season then went a bit quiet but tonight Reid Duke was that guy. He has this understated speed, underpinned by a desire to beat his man to the puck. I still can't figure out how he beat his man to the puck for the first goal - he came from nowhere. Then his second, coolness under pressure in front of net we have needed for a while.

The four of MacDonald, O'Brien, Martin and Sanford all had good games - rust couldn't handle Cole, and Zach looks a level above game on game.

Apparently Saucerman passed out on the Steeler bench after a hit from Busch - hence the delay. Didn't see it but presume was clean, albeit that was probably what young mister Shudra took exception too and should earn himself a 2 or 3 game ban.

Think Mac will want two of those back. Our D was OK, it's so good to have Cody back. Mosey tracking back and stopping the Steeler when 1-on-1 was a huge moment.

Stripes - less said the better. It says something when I was surprised they got the 5+game correct. Tyler must have thought he was going to get an embellishment call with the dross calls we have had recently.

Devils MOTM clearly Duke, but Tansey gave him a run for his money. Clown.

Can't stand the Orange, glad they go home with nothing apart from a few hundred quid for the 50/50 - fella might be able to afford a Steeler Bed Spread now.

Think we got the rub of the green with the officials tonight. Obviously the 4th goal off the lino, and then the last Steelers penalty with 2 mins to go was so soft, which killed the game off. Can see why Fox was a bit annoyed.

Well I think we saw our main man come to the fore this evening. Reid Duke is the one player that has the high end skillset along with the grit, energy and bite to his play that can turn a game on its head. He was superb tonight. A very good performance all round from the team and I for one hope that we can get some settled lines based on tonight’s performance, and in particular keep Martin and Sanford on different lines, where I think they work better and offer more balance to the line up.

Anybody know if there were any Orange fans in the building tonight? Seems just the one who won 50/50....

Three goals and heard nothing from the away block, thought was filled with first time neutrals

I honestly didn't think we would come away with a win tonight, first period we looked sloppy and just not awake, midway through the 2nd period we woke up and took no shit, Carruth played his game and made sure Simpson knew not to try his shit again or he'd feed him his teeth.

I did notice a few passes from our lot either went astray or just went where ever we weren't, wasn't happy that we had a five minute power play and did nothing with it but Pete will probably be working on that getting cleaned up.

Duke has really started to showcase his talents when it's needed.
Brandt was up for feeding anyone in orange their teeth as was Gourley.

Loving the back bone we show when the game needs shifting up a gear.

And the refs...

Besides the normal cluster buff calls they make they actually got a call right and for once Brandt wasn't thrown from game lol
