Are dops still run by outside independent people or gone back to our lot.? Not being funny shudra needs a slapping for that cowardly attack straight on his first shift ..Next time we play them..

It doesn't surprise me in honesty, but the final cross-check to Busch's lower back should have warranted something alone. That was a deliberate attempt to injure.

I'd love to see Shudra be offered out next time we play them (he's pretty tough so I'm sure he'd oblige and hold his own), but I won't hold my breath. Nothing came of Ulett and that was worse.

A fine is an absolute joke. I guess it’ll take a serious injury for this kind of behaviour to be assessed properly. Deliberately cross checking an opponent, multiple times, one looked to the head whilst defenceless and it ends in a fine.
May be the worse thing Busch did was get up afterwards. Perhaps if he’s taken off on a stretcher it’ll get the punishment it deserves. Madness.

The DOPS procedure this year was agreed/decided by the teams but it is not fit for purpose. The lack of any explanations for incidents like this is a joke really, and discredits not only the process but also the league. Disciplinary measures should be completely independent. There is too much self interest. What was the fine? How does Ulett get 2 games for what he did recently and Shudra just a fine? Apart from the obvious answer that the latter plays for the Steelers, it’s just bizarre. I was also surprised that the MacWilliam check to the head game penalty was ignored in terms of an explanation. If it didn’t warrant further action, tell us why. We need more transparency.
Maybe the answer is to just sign the toughest meathead around and deal with it on the ice if players aren’t being protected by the disciplinary process.

I really don't care now, all the lets get the result first bull out of the way, Devils need to sort this out and quickly, Ulett first and now Shundra, if we don't stick up for ourselves this will happen all season, a statement needs to be put out there. I was annoyed that not one player went over when it happened. People will say the league moved on, clearly not because this is going on and one of our players will get hurt playing the Russell euro style game.

Good evening Devils!
Been a long time since I commented but I do drop by occasionally and read what you are all saying.
On the Shudra attack, I find it incredulous that he has been fined for cross checking! This nowhere near covers what the act included, this was an attack from behind using the stick as a weapon, to injure a player with multiple hits of the stick.
Absolutely ridiculous punishment for this.
I’m with you all with your comments.

It doesn't stop with shudra...on the weekend a guildford player had 1 game ban. For slew footing..in the past slew footing would be 2 or 3 games last season as it's the most dangerous act in ice hockey seems like current dops are more lenient in these later episodes of attempt to injure players .

Pretty sure Brandt and Gourley offered to dance with him and he wanted none of it.

Can we dress Bailey next Steelers game to repeat this? Shudra is as tough as a bowl of jelly! I think Busch will want to settle this himself...and can only see one winner if Shudra obliged.

Is he tough? Every YouTube fight video I've seen of Shudra he's getting his ass handed to him (including against our very own teenage Barry Bomber). Are you confusing him with Dowd (who is actually pretty tough)?

How tough was Dowd when we had Lou or the other Fourns on squad?

The belief that he is a tough guy is bullshit, if Brandt, Batch or Gourley dropped gloves at him he would soil himself.

Hell Simpson shit himself after Carruth can you imagine what would of happened if Carruth lost his shit and got hold of him.

Dowd would put Brandt to sleep, don’t compare a middleweight to a heavyweight and a fighter at that. Dowd is one class player, would have loved to have seen him at Cardiff, and he is tough.

He was still just as tough. He fought Coughler, dropping him twice in the same fight with Mark Louis stood on the ice. For a middleweight Dowd is tough, Batch is a step too far but I don’t think he’d bat an eyelid at Gourley or Brandt - I’d actually bet on Dowd tbh.
