First time watching this season and I have to say I was very impressed. Defensively I can't remember seeing a Devils team look so solid, last year we were good but on the evidence of last night, this year we are even better. It was typified by Steelers 63 keeping the puck on the outside for maybe 20 seconds trying to find a gap for a pass and a shot but........ nothing. the late goal was annoying but apart from that we didn't look like conceding all game.

Up front I loved that all our goals were from about 6 feet out. That's Devils hockey, picking up the rebounds, jamming the puck in and putting pressure on the D. Yaremko was outstanding throughout but credit to Barrow, Oli and others for their workrate. Oh and I loved Harewood's response to having his pocket picked, he turned chased and immediately won the puck back, great stuff.

Shame Dowd resorted to WWE tactics at the end of the fight as it was a cracker but really, the sight of the arena emptying with a few minutes to go was just perfect.

Hopefully this is representative of the rest of the season

I think that was said tongue in cheek. I think both coaches may have had a word and agreed not to play both players.

Was it Brandt who came flying of the bench into a brawl a few pre seasons ago and wasn't banned.

So we now move on to the Panthers, would be so cool to keep them on a leash and send them home with their tails between their legs. Would be good to see them rushing for the cat flaps to get away from us, let’s go Devils.

On a separate note, as a result of the new seats in blocks 4 and 14 and the new standing areas at the back of several blocks, the new capacity of the rink (as per figures from Saturday's sell-out) is 3230 - a total of 120 tickets more per game (capacity was 3110 last season).

Plus the pending 400 seats above 9 and 10 will take it to 3630..

16 seats added in each of the new front rows of blocks 4 and 14 (32 total). Standing rows added at the back of blocks 4 and 5 (9 tickets in each), block 10 (6 tickets), block 11 (19 tickets), block 14 (10 tickets) - that's 85 tickets I've spotted. Not sure if the new lounge above the bar counts to the new capacity so not sure where the other 35 tickets are positioned but would imagine someone else on here has spotted them.

Great highlights and 2 honest interviews by thommo and fox. These 2 teams will finish in top 2 hopefully us 1st i know we had 5 games now but steelers over their2 games showed what they got .not bothered about giants and panthers let them fight it out for 3rd...just saying
