Devils start their league campaign and home stand this Saturday. With the first month of the season already behind us the Devils welcome the Storm to the Bay for our opener. We're looking a bit banged up for the early season but I guess at least we've not dropped a league point in September. Storm have a Wednesday game so hopefully we'll be the fresher team.

So storm come to the vindico top of the lge let's put them in their place like we did the last game , expecting 4 points this weekend and we need it with our away form .

I watched the Storm v Clan game last night. Storm were good, particularly defensively. A big note - Ulett ruled the show with physicality, and his physicality was absolutely the turning point for the whole game, as echoed by the commentators. Clan didn’t want to know, and Storm took over from there.

We cannot let him do the same to us. This is where I feel we’ll again miss Helegesen, but sure we have enough in our locker to do a number on them again. Could be a good one this!

We have 3 players on our roster that would drop the gloves with Ulett if they had to, possibly 4, not counting (Helgesen )

Yeah, I’m not really thinking who’ll drop them. I’m thinking more of a deterrent before it even went that far. Preventing them from playing hard and physical. They beat clan because they played a heavy without dropping the gloves. They were good at it too.

Ulett was anonymous in the last game here, jennion tried his best to ruffle feathers but didnt want to know the fighting bit . Think he had 3 pens first period and pretty sure critchley sent him out to disrupt our game and backfired, didnt see him last 2 periods.

Storm will smell blood with our injuries. Ullett was particularly quiet in the last game and looked off the pace.

Our D will need to get back to last season's level which won't be easy with 2 missing and Jonas making his debut (presumably).

We won't be able to carry anyone, so Mieho and Caron will need to be involved from the first whistle

First league game and it’s at home, we have to kick off the season with both points and Storm are going to be up for this one. As Kristian said and rightly so we need to take charge from the get go, they have 4 players who are happy to mix it but we need to take the bull by the horns and really dominate. As has already been stated we can’t afford to carry anyone, next week we will see many players who never knew what it was like to back down to anyone, we need to show that that’s still the case today. Let’s hope we leave the Vindico smiling and having been entertained, it’s over to the players now.

They have 6/7 players who are willing to drop them, so we have to be ready to have eaxh others backs. They are going to approach it differently than last time I’m sure

Good first period that - some won't have liked it. We need to take our chances but D look back to a level above where they have been.

No bite though. Game is quite restrained in that respect.

Nowhere near the physicality I was expecting, we are playing well, but we do need an out and out goal score from what we’ve seen this season so far.

Deridder is having a solid tho.

Definitely miss an out and out goal scorer don’t we? But to be honest I thought that looked obvious in August. I’m still left scratching my head a bit at our recruitment over the summer. A win’s a win tho.

Love a bit of drama at the end. Jenion providing Floor Furnishings with their money's worth on the PP.

Harewood deserved MOTM, but we didn't make it easy for ourselves did we. The ENG typified our evening.

But 2 points is 2 points, just ask the Orange

jesus christ.. drew deriddler is on steriods, we have 5.4xG and only got 2 (one was an empty netter ofc) but we shouldve been way up there.
I also feel like MacDonald was try too hard to get assists but you can tell that's just not his thing..
Either way it was a better look to previous weekends I would say, those powerplays were very very close but didn't quite work out because of bloody drew deriddler, with other goalies i feel as if we could've capitalized on both though.

I also believe olischefski's wraparound basically crossed the line fully before being kicked back out:
