Thought I'd check in on DOPS twitter account. I was aware of some early fines and suspension but not looked into it.

Couple early observations: every year DOPS get criticised for consistency, clearly that means investment is needed in the department otherwise the product of UK ice hockey will suffer credibility issues and make it more difficult to progress.

To that end, the league have decided to not produce explanation videos for bans less than 3 games. So fans have to rely on what might be available on social media...

Whilst it may just be a cost cutting exercise it screams that the league don't want fans calling out the short comings with DOPS. Afterall you can't criticise what you can't see.

Saw Heard was chirping last night at the Vindico, cupping his ear to home fans and then gesturing to the home bench....was it Heard who should have been called for interference on Davies? As he was fined for the exact same thing last weekend.

DOPS needs investment, not cuts

It was McLellan that hit Duggan, prompting the Davies reaction.

Prkusic was the guy who hit Davies near the benches.

I thought Heard was great entertainment, he didn’t stop chirping the Devils’ bench. Just wish someone would have popped him in the mouth to let him know his actions would not be tolerated.
I appreciate that he’s a first liner but I’ve no doubt that him and Brandt will be acquainted this season.

Prkusic it was then, thanks. Last night did need someone to make Clan answer for a lot of their.....rubbish. Chirping etc is fine, as long as they answer for it.

Morning all,

Big morning for DOPS with the Flames and Storm battle last night (both play today), and of course the big call about MacWilliam.

How many videos will we get? I'm going to say: none

Per Gamesheets at 38.16
Hinam game for fight, Morrow game for roughing
Jacome game for fight, Catenacci game for slew foot
Otherwise:
Storm 4 minors, Flames 4 minors

In the ever increasingly baffling and inconsistent world of Elite League DOPS, as they have already addressed the infractions from last nights Storm vs Flames match, is it reasonable to think that MacWilliam’s GM (from Last Wednesday) has already been assessed and not considered worthy of further sanction?? I haven’t seen anything posted.

As many Devils fans have said, they would have expected a suspension of some degree, but there doesn’t appear to have been anything announced

Got away with it then . The wording I would put is inconclusive like brandts game penalty the previous week.

At least it’s fairly consistent this year. It takes an awful lot to get a ban. Hopefully the return of more physical hockey.

Now if that was the case we would be all for it, but this league is too erratic for any consistency, continuity has never been this league’s strong point.

The other thing I can't understand was there's 4 officials on the ice ...it was blantly obvious that bout of cross checking the penny should've dropped when shudra took an extra crosscheck when bush was defenceless on the floor...but it took at least a 3 minute review. To decide the outcome..

I watched a few AHL games earlier in the year and incidents like this are an every game occurrence. Along with many hits that most fans would have a meltdown about and call a check to the head that didn’t even get a penalty. Past few years the league has gone soft

Hopefully the league is roughing up, as that’s what most fans want to see. Look how interesting this incident makes the next Steelers game, the marketing writes itself.

Taken from DOPs explanation "makes the decision to deliver multiple cross-checks, catching his opponent high in the head/neck area. Shudra takes it further by delivering a cross-check whilst Busch is down on the ice." Multiple cross checks catching his opponent in the head!! A frickin cross check to the head! Ciampina got a game for that not so long ago. DOPs are useless.
