Been on the invicta dynamos forum to try and work out what happened but all that's on there is biased stories, people bitching about the whole team but mostly Sadler, deacon and chris hart. Obviously I'm sure people involved with Cardiff will have a different opinion on what happened.

i think there were fights breaking out everywhere, we had to deal with the players,
fans, trying to get at the boys, allways a tough place to go ,think the ref lost control in the end, think it ended 3-1, goal by Haslam, :x

Some of the "comments" on the Invicta Forum read:-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I was in the middle of the block where the off-ice sticking incident happened. It goes like this, Sadler comes off whilst arguing with the ref after fighting with Giles. Normal banter happened i.e. get in the box, get in the box. Sadler then turns to the crowd using the five fingure sign language, (appalling as kids are around as well). Sadler then takes a quick swig of his water bottle then squirts the crowd and his own team, which then makes the so called Manager think we have squirted them and he starts shouting abuse to the crowd. Then a fan than got soaked approach the bench in a calm manner asking why he just did it which then became a bit of a scuffle with the stewards. Both the Cardiff manager and a player was holding sticks then hit the Dynamos fan on the head twice which made the rest of the fans retaliate to this as you surely would. Nothing else happened and the block was asked to move over another block. Poor form from the Cardiff team and especially to the manager and Sadler. This is supposed to be a family watching sport so with the language alone it was disgraceful let alone the assault on the fan. Completely uncalled for, bad sportsmanship and bad human nature.

To not be bothered to finish the game though was an appaling effort by the Cardiff Team. - Maybe the manager thought the police were on their way?"

Another reads:-

"Cardiff were an absolute disgrace; in half a lifetime of watching sport from grassroots to elite level, I have never seen such disgusting scenes. Their team showed no respect for the game, their fellow players and their livelihoods, the fans, the officials and even the Zamboni driver.

The player who attacked a fan with his stick will hopefully be starting a jail sentence in the New Year. If someone does not have the minimal sense to realise that one of the reasons that players wear helmets is to protect them against blows to the head from a potentially lethal weapon, they have no business going anywhere near a hockey rink. "

 Would be interested to hear more.

Deacon ended up in hospital after being elbowed whilst talking to the ref, no way are we a dirty team, if cudds called it a day good for him , player safety, on the dynamos forum it says that £5000 has to be paid to the club to cover loss if the visiting team refuses to complete the game, is this a eiha rule ,

Right best thing we can do is not comment on it- Let them keep spouting stuff. There's always two sides to the story and they're not the most welcoming fans- don't think the rink has been the most welcoming at all. My concern is- where were the stewards stopping fans getting at the bench?

ENL vs Invicta abandoned

Cardiff clash abandoned in the second

The Invicta Dynamos’ first clash of a double header weekend was abandoned in the 35th minute on Saturday evening after a number of on and off ice issues saw the Cardiff ENL Devils unwilling to complete the tie. The club must now await the decision of the EIHA with regards to the outcome of the fixture.
The first incident occurred just under midway through the second period as Ryan Giles intervened on a clash between Corey Watkins and David Sadler to partake in a fight that would see him accrue a match penalty. On Sadler’s return to the away bench an altercation between a supporter seated in the stands and the Cardiff team then escalated beyond a reasonable level. The Invicta Dynamos are committed to making hockey in Gillingham a family friendly environment and cannot condone the involvement of fans in any action against the visiting team. However, equally, it is unacceptable for players or staff to react to any provocation, especially in a dangerous manner that involves the use of their hockey stick.
The second incident then occurred in the 35th minute as Cardiff forward Ricky Deacon collided with goalie Andy Moffat whilst the shot stopper was playing the puck behind his own net. A line brawl followed involving Callum Fowler, Justin Noble, Callum Best, Jack Tarczycki and Alastair Band of the Dynamos and Ricky Deacon, Jordan Powell, Geovanni Raffaelli, Tom Smith and Gareth Dixon of the ENL Devils. Of these, Alastair Band was penalised most severely with a match penalty. In the aftermath of the line brawl, and with play halted, a brief altercation between Grant Baxter and Ricky Deacon near the home bench seemingly drew blood with Baxter later handed a match penalty for roughing.
Finally, whilst resurfacing of the ice was being attempted, the ENL Devils proved uncooperative and match referee W. Hewitt eventually dispatched both sides to their respective dressing rooms. Cardiff then refused to reappear and prevented play from recommencing resulting in the tie being abandoned.
The Invicta Dynamos regret the unsatisfactory conclusion of the fixture for both fans and players alike and will make a further statement when the EIHA have confirmed their decision on the outcome of the tie. The team are next in action on Sunday as they travel to Essex to face the Romford Raiders

Stewards did come in and split up the issue thankfully the ref stopped you manager swinging the stick for the third time as he managed to remove it.....
the spectator did head towards the player shouting at him about throwing water ......but at no time entered the bench area and was still in the stands when struck it seems Sadler speared the spectator which started it all it then got out of hand at no time was any of the cardiff players physicaly attacked by any spectator it a shame the cardiff bench slightly over reacted 99% of the players handled the situation well all apart from Sadler.
and the Coach Mark Cuddihy(poor show of temprament from the coach)

After the match was abandoned the Invicta Facebook page was quick to blame Devils. This morning they seem to be fuming at a report which has appeared at:

http://www.thisiskent.co.uk/Invicta-Dyn ... story.html

KENT ice hockey club Invicta Dynamos has expressed its regret at the abandonment of last night's game against Cardiff Devils following clashes between fans and players.

The fixture at the Silver Blades Ice Rink in Gillingham was halted following a number of confrontations between the visiting side and home fans in the crowd.

In a statement posted on the club website this morning, the organisation restated its commitment to providing a safe environment for hockey at its Medway home.

"The Invicta Dynamos' first clash of a double header weekend was abandoned in the 35th minute on Saturday evening after a number of on and off ice issues saw the Cardiff ENL Devils unwilling to complete the tie," the statement reads.

"The club must now await the decision of the EIHA with regards to the outcome of the fixture.

"The Invicta Dynamos are committed to making hockey in Gillingham a family friendly environment and cannot condone the involvement of fans in any action against the visiting team."

One supporter inside the venue, who spoke to This is Kent on condition of anonymity, described the scenes as "the most disgusting game of ice hockey" he had ever witnessed.

The fan said: "When the main incident occurred I noticed three Dynamo supporters who were shouting at the Devils players as they exited the ice, and started making threats towards them.

"One of the three supporters went crazy and started trying to charge towards the Devils players. He was later restrained and told to leave the club.

"In defence of the Devils, if anyone questions stick use by the Devils players, the only stick use I saw was to push the supporters away from attacking them."

However, equally, it is unacceptable for players or staff to react to any provocation, especially in a dangerous manner that involves the use of their hockey stick."

The trouble at the English National League game began midway through the second period when, following an on-ice fight, Cardiff player David Sadler's return to the away bench was followed by an altercation with a fan which, in the words of the home team, "escalated beyond a reasonable level".

This incident forced the delay of the game while a section of the stand behind the Welsh team's bench was cleared.

Minutes later violence flared up again, with both sides being dispatched to their dressing rooms following a 10-man 'line brawl' involving players from both teams. The Cardiff team then refused to return to the ice and as a result the match was abandoned.

On its website the club said: "The Invicta Dynamos regret the unsatisfactory conclusion of the fixture for both fans and players alike and will make a further statement when the EIHA have confirmed their decision on the outcome of the tie."

Were you at the game in Gillingham last night? Do you have pictures or video of the events inside the Silver Blades Ice Rink? Then email rhys.griffiths@northcliffedigital.co.uk or tweet @rhysdgriffiths.

Maybe we should be talking to the police about racial abuse?

Seriously, if you feel that you ate being abused or discriminated against then in law you have been. Yes - know the fine print.

There is fun, and there is aggressive racism. Would they play "Jungle Boogie" when an African team came out? Nuff said.
