Given that a winning team is not necessarily an entertaining team, and vice versa .......

Give me the entertainment, we used to win a lot less trophies not that many years ago but I generally went home happy having seen a gutsy, passionate and committed game from our guys and usually from the opposition as well.
A lot of the hockey served up by the Devils over the last two or three seasons seems a little sterile with less compassion, less contact play and physicality.
I would happily have half a team of Riley Brandt's and Justin Faryna's and the other half skilled players, we'd probably be mid table but fans would be up out of their seats and making plenty of noise which is something else that's sadly missing on many an occasion recently as well (I hate the "make some noise" screen in the rink).

It’s the entertainment for me.
I much preferred the days when we were the underdogs… a win felt like it was earned and meant so much more. The hockey was blue collar and the fans were into it more.
The trophies are great, but it feels like there’s a sense of entitlement from the fans in the arena as a result. Ultimately, the size of our fanbase dictates that we should be competing for 4/5 with the Clan. Whilst we have bloody amazing owners who aren’t afraid to put their hands in their pockets to make us compete, we shouldn’t expect to be winning the league given the budgets.
But if theres any room left can we sign Brendan Perlini to come and play with his brother for 3 months please????

Interesting question, but a bit of a false one for me. Playing skillfully, scoring good goals and defending well are entertaining to me and they add up to winning. If you are equating entertaining to hits and fights, while I definitely enjoy that aspect, I'd rather not watch a bunch of goons trying to hurt the opposition while losing every game 6-0. The reality, of course, is that it's got to be a blend - hard and skilful = entertaining = winning.
Pushed to a choice, I feel a lot less irritable if we've won regardless of how, so I'd go for winning.
