3-0 down after the first leg of the Challenge Cup Final, I can remember driving home from Coventry in stony silence.

I half considered not bothering to go to the second leg even though I had a ticket.

The team stepped up big time and Nathan Rempel and Rejean Stringer got their names in the Devils history books.

The first trophy I ever saw the Devils win.
I don't think anything will ever top it.

That was a manic game , the roof came off at WNIR when stringer scored , the game was up with best ever , and guess what, thommo was blaze coach at the time lol

Thanks for sharing. I think your experience mirrored mine - I had an 8 hour round trip to watch it and seriously considered not going but........ so pleased I did.

Everything is still so vivid.

Maybe Wembley 1990 was more dramatic but that was the early days when we expected success, this..... was different and only the Challenge Cup under the new ownership is anywhere near this night

The only win that can rival the 2015 CC for me personally. The atmosphere pre-game was a palpable, living thing. Singing Welsh songs and the anthem pre-game on the ice while the Blaze fans heckled and jeered, Mike and I uniting for a seemingly endless driving drum beat for what felt like the entire third period with the whole of the WNIR in full voice, and then the comeback to boot.

It's one of those truly impossible to convey nights to anyone who wasn't in the old Cathedral that night. Remps joining the pantheon of great performance Devils and Reggie sending us all into total delirium. Only made better by hearing Jase nearly stroking out on the commentary.

Bloody glorious.

Fantastic atmosphere that night at the WNIR (no requirement for any forced megaphone led malarkey). Watched it stood behind the goal (always a wise move for quick access to the bar). Surrounded by Blaze fans, who fair do’s really added to the atmosphere - the only occasion in the WNIR where by ears genuinely hurt from the absolute nose.

When you watch it back, fair to say there were some shocking penalty shots by both teams, it looked like Reggie was the only one that didn’t immediately shoot.

Not a night PT would want to remember! Even though the Devils and their fans went to 'Heaven' that night. Nearly left early because of work the next day. ThankGod my Beloved Dad persuaded me to stay ....and witness a bit of Devils' history.

Wow 20 years ago!!!! What a night it was. Straight to the rink from work with zero expectations. A couple of hours later absolute pandemonium. Will never forget it.

I was there! What a night still my favourite Devils match. For anyone interested i upscaled this game a couple of years back to widescreen added intros and end credits TV style with on screen graphics and replays to enhance the viewing experience.
