Do we have any news on a possible arrival for him?

With Voth banned, it'd be good to get him in ASAP and take us some way to replacing our scoring power!

The preview of the Stingrays game off the official site has the following
Cardiff Devils Website said:
Cardiff forward Jay Latulippe is waiting for the green light while his paperwork is finalised and could fly in from North America soon.
I read somewhere G was hoping he'd be here for both games this weekend. Really looking forward to seeing him in action.

also, some of the comments on there are highly suggestive that he has some social plans over in the US, and as such will not be here this weekend.

d'oh.

Well if there are further delays, get another import in, especially as we're likely to lose Voth for a few games (hopefully not 12!). Things like visas should have been sorted out weeks ago.

Does this suggest that the delays are coming from our end or from Jay?

I'm a bit concerned about his record - he has never finished a season with the same team he started it with, in his professional career.

I hope these stats and info are misleading and don't give a true reflection of Jay.

Teams people have played for in America can be quite misleading due to the trading system. Jay looks like someone who isnt a superstar in the minors but does a job which makes him perfect trade material for coaches who may want to improve their squad.

Tyson played with him and reccomended him so as of right now i dont think we should have any concerns as to his mentality.

Thanks Gazza,

I didn't know about the recommendation from Tyson.

That's good enough for me.

G stated in the programme saturday that Jay is a good passer so he should easily slot in as a playmaker, although it maybe worth him beginning on 3rd line with Towe and Cowie. Our 3rd line is more thasn holding its own at the moment but Towe is getting into great positions and finding himself on his own so Jay could start there.

Only problem would be that both Towe and Jay are set up men so one would have to take on the shooting role temporarily. Of course Brad may not be around this weekend which would mean problem solved anyhow.

The guy was supposed to be getting his visa at the end of last week, according the Adams. What's the hold up? It's important that he gets here and settles in asap, because I presume we're likely to be without Voth for a little while. Getting a bit frustrated with this, should have been sorted out by now.

At the risk of being controversial....

"Current waiting times for work permit applications -
During week commencing 15 September 2008 we expect to be considering:

Sports and Entertainments team
Applications received between 8 September 2008 and 18 September 2008.

Current performance (year to date)
24% of applications decided within five working days
56% of applications decided within 15 working days"

Well, I would have thought he would have applied before 8th September. If not, looks like he might not be in for a while yet!

I believe something was wrong with his initial Visa application and he has had to reapply. They were expecting to hear more at the start of this week.

Taken from Devils web site

The Devils may well be without Captain Brad Voth this weekend but the long wait for the arrival of Jay Latulippe will end when he flies into Heathrow on Saturday morning ready to take his place on the team against Basingstoke.
