Haven't seen this anywhere: https://www.nihlnational.com/article/566-josh-batch-announces-his-retirement

Best of luck for your retirement Josh, a real stalwart for the Devils and often underrated. His fight with Zach Fitzgerald in the BBT is one of my favourite ever but maybe set him up as a youngster to be something he wasn't. Not an out and out fighter, instead a tough, defensive D man who kept things simple and never let anyone down.

As he got older her just got better and better. Closed down lanes well, blocked shots, joined the rush and did the simple things well. Some cracking fights too.

When it was announced that Gerad Adams had signed a young defensive prospect from Chelmsford, Devils' fans were curious. Out came this gigantic, lanky, fresh-faced kid....some thought 'wonder if he is going to be any good?'

Over the years, Josh worked so hard at his craft to become one of the most reliable and indispensible defencemen in the league and an asset to Team GB.
A physical monolith who kept his game simple and effective...and to a great standard. Josh's fantastic pairing with Big Lou for 4 years was one of the highlights of the Lordo Era.

Loved by fans and Club, Josh has earned his place in the history of the Club. Wishing him and his Family all the best in the next chapter of Life.
