Barrow out as well.
So we are missing Barrow, Shinks, O'brien Martin and Carruth from our import list, can we even sign another import to cover Shinks now or are we screwed and just have to ride the storm out?
I know Martin is on paternity leave and O'brien had a family emergency but missing Barrow and Shinks going into the Christmas games and new year games is not gonna be a fun set of games to watch

If we put either Shinkaruk or Barrow on Injury Reserve List then they can't play again for 90 days from when they last played.
Shinkaruk is out for up to 4 weeks according to that article, so could be back by 13th January - so IRL would be pointless if that 4 week assessment is correct.
Barrow last played 8th Dec. I've not seen any mention of his injury but if we put him on IRL he wouldn't be able to play again until 8th March. Which would actually be past the International Transfer Deadline and the rules on that are unclear to say the least.
Now, according to the EIHL website we started the season with 17 imports and 6 brits. Then added Sanford (permanent) and Burman (IRL).
But I can't work out who those 17 imports were unless either I'm missing someone out when counting or Duve was always on our roster as permanent and not EBUG.
So although we have only used up 18 of 20 import slots we've also used up 24 of our 25 total spots.
So we can still sign one more import - but that would mean that Burman couldn't be made permanent once the injured player he is covering is fit. Which I believe is Batch?

One thought I have just had - was that if Duve was on the original roster it could be him on the IRL
....or...... we could play the system like other N. Ireland and Yorkshire based teams have done in the past and put him on the IRL for rest of season. Allowing us to keep Burman and rotate 3 netminders when Carruth is back - and sign an additional spare import.

I’m trying to get to the bottom of understanding our signing numbers this year and I can’t see how the official EIHL numbers for us is not incorrect.
The EIHL site stated we had 17 non-homegrown on the opening roster and 23 signed overall, and it states we could only add 2 more non-IR cover players overall. Again the EIHL site states Sanford was our 18th non-homegrown and our 24th overall signing. A later article states Burman has been, so far, signed as an IR cover, so as yet he doesn’t count to our overall signing meaning technically we have one signing slot available this season if Burman doesn’t become a full signing before the end of the season.
I know this has been brought up on a previous thread last month, but surely we only signed 16 imports and 6 Brits on our opening roster, including Duve.

So who was the 17th initial import if they existed? I can only conclude that the EIHL official signing numbers published was wrong, and remains incorrect as per its last post from 28th November:

That's how I see it too (i.e. the EIHL roster updates are incorrect). Additionally, though, I'm surprised if Duve wasn't an EBUG and EBUGs surely don't count as on roster. If they don't the roster update seems to be overstated by two players
Another aspect is that the rules say team's can register up to 20 imports in season, but can only have a maximum of 18 registered at any one time - leaving scope to replace up to two imports who leave for any reason. So, if the roster update is correct we are already at the max import number (18).
Official clarification would be great.
