Good point. Also relevant to the Brits who would supposedly 'make up the numbers'. They would all have jobs outside of hockey, how many of them would be able to leave work and go in to a bubble for 3 months?
Thought the bubble would be a Friday to Sunday thing. Testing on entry and limiting contact from the outside world.

If you just recieved the money toted around that English clubs recieved, you wouldn’t have part time brits playing Sunday and plastering Monday, we don’t have that now so what changes with a huge handout.

Because there's going to be reduced import levels, meaning clubs are going to have to find Brits from somewhere. Say 10 imports each, meaning for 6 clubs that's over 20 new Brits. There might be some Brits from Scotland/Belfast available, but they would maybe have another job outside of hockey during this season, can they afford to leave that to enter the bubble?
Plus, perhaps Duggan, Richie, Hazeldine, Tetlow, Davey Phillips etc, would be tempted to stay playing in Europe in a more official league setup, rather than this mini tournament.

No it would be a complete bubble for 12 weeks. Staying in a hotel, no contact with anyone outside the bubble, including family. That is not going to be an attractive scenario for some.

If that's the case sadly I cant see it working. The NHL players said how hard bubble life was and they were making million, playing for Lord Stanley. Can't see many semi pros making the sacrifice.

This is certainly not going to be the EIHL. Give it some alternative name, sure - but there's no way that it can be treated on par with a normal season. That means the winner doesn't get an EIHL title and doesn't get European qualification. Other teams wouldn't recognize the devils as league winners last time because the league finished early, and this would have nowhere near the same validity.

Just a thought - would hotel staff have to bubble as well?

The EIHL have confirmed that the Scottish govt have now followed Westminster’s lead in allocating £2m in funding to Scottish Ice Hockey rinks/teams as part of their funding for spectator sports.
Unsurprisingly, the Welsh Assembly govt have no plans to do likewise.
Sport Wales, who are administering all funding applications in Wales don’t even mention Ice Hockey on their website!
Read into that what you will.

Europe know who we are. Left wing WAG half a mile away across the Bay don’t know anything about our sporting achievements. Grrrr

Do you have evidence that the Welsh Govt couldn’t give a hoot, or is just your opinion. Be interesting to know your answer.

An explanation from WAG would be nice. Now Scotland have moved maybe Wales will - not that the money really solves anything.(in my view)

Shame Carwyn Jones wasn’t still in situ! Used to see him at a lot of Devils games.

Drakeford probably doesn’t even realise Wales have a rugby team!
