Looking at Elite League table this morning, it isn't only Sheffield in the chase.

Anyone noticed Belfast creeping up the table, quietly going about their business? Now 8 points behind us with 2 games in hand. Recent run of good form has pushed them up the league.

Christmas period will start to sort out the rankings with most teams playing 6 games in the next 2 weeks - and some games in hand will be played in the next few weeks.

Devils just need to keep finding ways to win against all teams - not just those in our conference.

Spot on there is at least 3 teams in the running for the league title, the difference being that our fate is in our hands. Other teams know they have to keep winning their games that's obvious, but they are also relying on us messing up, this league is so topsy turvy it's untrue, so many strange results, with any team having the ability to beat anyone on any given night. The outcome could certainly come down to the wire, also injuries, poor performances, refs decisions etc etc, will play a big part. It's also funny that when a team play shorthanded, they seem to raise the bar in their own performances, sometimes more ice time will better players performances. We are still in the drivers seat, but certainly can't take our foot off the accelerator, all teams will lose games, and at this moment in time it's a lottery. All we can do is concentrate on our game, we are a very good team that's why we are where we are, but we ain't the only good team out there, the wolves are now gathering, waiting to pounce on any weakness shown by us. Panthers are in our head, We are in Steelers head, and Steelers are in Panthers head, meanwhile Giants are quitely coming up on the inside. It's a nervous time for all, but it sure makes for entertainment.

Giants have a horrible fixture list at the end of the season and in January to come that, so we will know if they are real contenders by then I would say. Would be nice if they and shuff split the points.

Not including our fixtures but from now till end of January it's looking interesting with these games for example
Dec 26th Steelers v Panthers
Dec 27th Panthers v Steelers
Dec 31st Steelers v Storm
Jan 1st Storm v Steelers
Jan 7th Giants v Steelers
Jan 8th Giants v Steelers
Jan 20th Giants v Panthers
Jan 28th Steelers v Giants
Jan 29th Steelers v Giants.
Obviously other fixtures will play a huge part, and more surprises to come for all teams.

Steelers play Blaze home and away this week. Giants play Capitals twice in Belfast this week plus a CC 2nd leg game tomorrow night against Storm. Hopefully a few results might go our way.
