This has been brewing for a while. Hopefully someone can step in an save the frachise, in Phoenix or somewhere else.

They had a good young team, and hopefully they will be able to play next season.

Matt Burge should step in, they could use a Devils style rebirth. Get the crowds in.

Blackberry boss Balsille has offered to take on the franchise for $212m with the condition that he be allowed to move it to Southern Ontario. Sounds like a good move, however Bettman has been trying to avoid selling to Balsille for a while now so I'm not sure if anything will change. It would certainly solve a problem though.

The crowds in Phoenix have been pitiful - and don't seem likely to improve. They seem to have almost as many away supporters as home.

They need success to bring in the crowds, but can't afford success without the crowds. This season, they have a good young team, we will only get better (IMHO) unless they trade away all the best players. They should have made the playoffs, if it wasn't for that nose dive after the All Star break.

Ontario would be a better bet - you would guess that there is a much bigger market for NHL hockey there, more than Phoenix anyway.
