I've got no doubt Mieho will be Smart/Streetwise/Very responsible defensively i've just got that horrible feeling that he ends up being a 30ish point player (Which is probably nonsense when you consider the level he's played at for the past decade) when i think we might need a bit more than that from him offensively.
The quality of the player only reflects their history and experience. It doesn't predict how they will perform in this league...so many variables (line mate chemistry, execution of tactics, fitness levels etc)

Any excuse for a bit of stat diving on Chucky and that 18/19 side. Although annoyingly the EIHL stat page and EP differ in their numbers so I have gone with EP...
(admittedly these may have some errors as I've added them up from the 2018/19 stats page and checked each player against each competition, so I may have misread somewhere. But ChatGPT wasn't having a great time providing accurate numbers!)
In 2018/19 Linglet put up 96 points across all competitions (league, challenge cup, playoffs, and CHL). Close behind him were Martin (90), and Fournier and Mike Hedden (both 84). Darcy Murphy at Giants put up 101, although he wasn't in the CHL (where Chuck put up 2 points) he was in the Conti Cup where he got 9 points against lower quality opponents.
Domestically it was Linglet 94-92 Murphy
So was he the best that year....arguably.
Of note, the top scorers for the Devils across the post-Covid seasons across all domestics and European competitions were:
2021/22 - Brodie Reid (77)
2022/23 - Cole Sanford (84)
2023/24 - Marcus Crawford (74)
2024/25 - Josh MacDonald (79)
2025/26 - Kristoff Kontos (66) - albeit with no European competition

when you look at a players effectiveness (basically how often they score compared to every shot they take), it’s pretty obvious Paul looked at the bottom 5 import forwards and binned 4 of them. Olichefski is the only one staying, and the only one to beat him was fergs.
Perlini is the only odd one out, since he was our best Brit (if those returnee lists are right).

a massive problem we had last year was finishing. we had the most shots on goal out of any team but our forwards just couldn't beat the goalie.

Chances are he’s going to do very well at this level but I don’t think it’s as simple as saying he’s spent a decade in the Liiga so he’s going to light this league up. He’s been a career 4th liner so even at EIHL level it might take a while to get used to different expectations.
Personally I think it’s easier to predict how well proven point scorers at ECHL/DEL2/ICEHL players will do at this level. You just know Archambault at Sheffield and Bates at Belfast will be up there with the top point scorers. With Mieho his 200 foot game will be great but I’m not entirely sure what to expect point scoring wise.

Just basing it on players like Markus Erikksen who have similar rates of conversion. He clearly believes that he can come in and play that offensive role expected of him.
I don’t believe that.his experience of Liiga alone would suggest he scores well. I think it’s the combination of that, and the things Steve King said, whereby Thommo has clearly done his research.
