I suspect we will see a different player under Thompson, rather than Russell who style didn't suit kohan game.

What is his style? From what I can see he’s never been a big scoring forward, he’s typically been a third line player on almost every team since NCAA.

We need to disassociate which line you are on to how “good” you are, in pro hockey it’s about roles. He hasn’t gone more than a point a game for any team in 10 years. He’s a good player, works his bollocks off, but unless he becomes a new player overnight, isn’t going to get the points of someone like Sandford or Joey Martin who I imagine will be second line players this year.

I think if you put Olischefski inbetween two goalscorers he's got the game to play top 2 lines.

At the end of the season he had MacDonald and O'Brien on his wings and he scored pretty much a point a game then.

Riley has been linked to the Panthers too. Let's hope not.
They have lost Sam Herr to retirement...a seasoned veteran now is valuable on a roster. Can understand the Andrew MacWilliam links to Panthers. But can't see it in reality myself.

I was always under the impression MacWilliam was playing one season at the devils, getting his Masters then take employment with one of the owners.

I don't know if this was the same but I saw a comment on the devils Facebook page in response to Fournier 're-signing'. Someone asked when Macwiliam and Brandt would be announced. Response was that rumour - they didn't back it up with anything tho so hopefully not

Also rumours brandt retiring , all rumours though, be gutted if true..and be even more gutted he's off to Belfast, saying that keefe knows how to use a rink rat as he was one himself .

My guess is that MacWilliam is done in the UK, and Brandt would never go to the Giants, if he is fit and I hope he is then I can see him back here, otherwise if we shouldn’t see him then I would reckon it’s due to injuries. These are my take on the matter and not rumour fuelled.

As for Macwilliam, he was only due to play one season here. I think if anything he may play one more with us, have another season in europe or retire.

The EIHL schedule is crazy compared to that of the other euro leagues especially when we have times where we are playing 5 games in 10 days.

I guess if the Carponi rumours are true then it may be there’s not enough room for him and Brandt.

Would be a shame as he’s fan fave (4 years running) for a reason. He has an excellent hockey brain and his productivity has stepped up this year too.

The Caponi rumour is a strong one, personally think it's a done deal. Very similar player to Riley, my immediate thoughts was that he would be a replacement. Still think it's likely, but with a new coaching set up it's hard to predict what they're thinking, they might want that energy from the 3rd and 4th lines. But if he is a replacement then he looks a good one.
