I'll add to last comment; they were also forced to play with inferior skates, sticks etc which were so crap even the juniors didn't want them when Ed tried to off load them.

You've spouted some rubbish in your time JB but that takes the cake.
British cup champions (beating you 3-0 on your own ice might i add!)
6 points off of the top of the league despite having no home ice for the first half then playing 3 games a week in the second half.
A penalty shot away from being playoff champions (oh again beating you lot in the semi finals)
All in all the guys of that side that year have for me a great claim to being the best Devils side there has ever been for what they put up with that year. I know you were trying to wind us up and you have probably succeeded, but if you were being serious we honestly honestly need an inferno whip round in order to buy you a clue.
If you spoke to most players and people connected to the sport - they will say that season the Devils were probably the best team in the league. Unfortunately the problems with the rink meant that we had 3 or 4 games a week in the second half of the season. This meant we ended up with quite a few injuries - and players missed more games than they normally did.
Losing those playoffs still hurts. We were the better side for the whole weekend but didn't get what we deserved. Should have beaten the Blaze by more than we did (not that it mattered) and had it not been for Nottingham's netminder we'd have won the final comfortably too IMO.
Of the 8 League, BK Cup and Playoff games we played against the Blaze that season - we won 6 of them. And one of the losses was only on penalties!

James - sometimes that's a very hard thing to ask. So many of us have complained to the Moderators about J.B.but nothing seems to get done. :x God knows, some of our own legit members get slated enough for negativity - this idiot is just allowed to carry on regardless. Fans of other clubs who enjoy regular reasonable banter about the sport are always welcome on this forum but, designed to wind us up or not, his negativity is just poison. :twisted:
