Now deduct all of the ST price rises, match day walk up prices, beer prices, food prices etc already applied since 2020 and the figure is ?

Nowhere near the 70%! You quote!

you’ve plucked that from thin air sonny!

Is this your way of backtracking on not knowing simple percentage increases and trying to not look stupid? (I think you were working out what percentage 12 is of 22, rather than what the increase is. You can have this lesson for free, might help you in your cost of living crisis. :))

I’ve never once said this hasn’t been offset, my point was that rinks have faced a 70% (conservative) energy price increase, which they have. Take a look at “The impact of higher energy costs on UK businesses: 2021 to 2024 by ONS” for a more in depth look.

Having a Bsc in applied mathematics and currently working as an Actuary in the London Insurance market (for the past 20’ years), I know my %ages - they normally get audited on a daily basis :).

So with figures already offset (as you acknowledge above) and energy prices confirmed as coming down as announced earlier this week, your energy figures don’t add up. 70% in real terms is nowhere near.

If you are trying to justify a 20%+ increase on energy prices versus past figures v today already offset by prior ST rises and the other cross-selling increases you are mistaken I’m afraid.

Well it wouldn’t have failed though as the gap would be even further if they hadnt.

The only way the players would benefit would be if we got the same players and paid them more money, which would be stupid. The idea is is we’d get better players.

Are you insinuating that the club putting prices up is to pay the owners more money? That’s a wild suggestion.
At the end of the day it is a business after all, not every single penny will be spent, so yes I suspect there be some if not more return on investment. The gap will now be the same if not wider with price increase from bigger teams. So the whole point of getting closer has been wiped away. We will be paying the same players more money, telling me joey, brandt, the brits will be on the same money since they joined, dont be crazy.

The Cardiff Devils are not a charity.

The energy crisis is hitting rinks more than anywhere, a 70% increase in energy costs but you don’t expect that to be passed onto the customer? And remain competitive?

Rink rental around the country was around £120 per hour in 2020, it’s around £250 per hour now.
Are you todd by any chance lol also we dont pay rink charges, we also make money from skating, other teams, food and drink, other events ect which most teams dont

I disagree, the way they have given goals away lately, they are very much a charity

So who made him sign Lacroix who has been useless, or Kontoss who goes MIA? Why not sack the players who've not turned up?
They don’t do that, they want to be seen as kind, nice and ever so considerate regardless of performance and whether you are taking the p1sh! Players laughing their heads off believe me!

Weak management and leadership accepting sub par performance and lazy mediocrity.

With fans feeling so fed up, wonder if the club would be willing to hold a fans forum to get some questions answered. Would be interesting to get some of our questions answered.

I blame the fans myself after all we are all replaceable, we need to up our game, maybe if we all turn up with a megaphone and really piss everyone off we will be more respected and held in higher esteem.

It’s a well know fact Kontos was a last minute signing as a deal fell through, but I’d suggest it’s a bit unfair to say he goes MIA when he’s predominantly been a 3rd liner and is still our 3rd highest point scoring forward
Which line is our first line and how do these players differ to those on the second and third? Its a rhetorical question but I genuinely believe recruitment featured too much sentiment and not enough up front fire power. The fact 4 guys sit in the stands is bewildering mind and must cost us a fortune

More to the point, I hope TK is charging those 4 players in the stands the going rate for their seats.
He could use the money to get better players!!
