the reality is with this new Dublin arena 6000 seater in the news and the Manchester new arena , 3000 seater i think ,cardiff will be a mid table team , nonmatter how much you spend. they are now at a stage where price in creases in future will hurt the club , they will always sell out because of limited seating , but without a larger arena theirs no chance of cheaper seats. even if they did decide to reduce them? so even if they upped the cost of a ticket every year ,there would be no difference , it would all be down to who got the best out of the team he had. like if the mid league teams found a gem and the arenas teams found a dud. so for me theirs 3 outcomes 1 we stay as we are midtable, 2 we get a new arena, 3 the league gets it act together and finds a big sponsor , it does make you think what fife and stars think of ending bottom half of table every year. would be more enjoyment playing in nhil and cheaper

Surely it's more a case that we will be able to offer more money to attract higher quality players?

With the greatest of respect to the players we have now, our roster in recent years isn't of the calibre that we had under the last couple of Lordo years.

We’ve been doing that since COVID apparently.

I don’t think the price increase will lead to a noticeable better product on the ice compared to the rest of the leagues top 3-4.

The Lordo era was different, that’s lost now with our reputation of burning through coaches.

I'm not sure how you claim it was better with 1500 crowds (if we were lucky) compared to 3000 crowds now?

You might not be enjoying the match nights as much or cameraderie, but it everyone felt that way then wouldn't the crowds be smaller?

And yes we might have been closer to competing back then, but that was because the arena teams were getting almost half the crowds that they are now.

What is your solution? Sack the management and........?

Those 1500 didn't need to be told to 'Make some Noise' the noise was generated by the action on the ice, the entertaining live sport that the crowd paid for. When the hockey is good I don't even notice the match night entertainment. I get that it entertains people till they get hooked on the sport and they keep coming back until they are, The hockey has been dire for the last 4 or 5 weeks as Thommo said in his interview after the Sheffield game however I saw comments on Twitter saying the excitement is back after a borefest of a 5 -1 victory at home to the bottom team.

My solution is not sack the management, its for them to take some accountability and feedback from the customers, something they said they would do from the outset, with the fans committee which disappeared within the first couple of months

The crowds could end up being smaller, the amount of people willing to pay the new prices could have a drastic effect on them, time will tell

More teams have dropped from this league than come in since the league started, Basingstoke, London, Edinburgh, Milton Keynes, Hull

One of the reasons the entertainment in the bbt was better along with more characters was the smaller ice pad, less space to hide, more hits and less time to dwell on the puck. That’s why Manchester have more entertainment than us, along with their smaller pad.

The four wages we have up on the gantry every week could help with this, maybe it is a luxury we can't afford but Belfast can, that would help with 20 better players, although we will have no injury cover but who cares if we are only challenging for 4th every season, and we could also make an effort to qualify for the knock out stages of the Challenge cup, that has put a dent in the finances, and that's on the club and the team, but the loyal customers will be forced to make up that shortfall

Sadly for storm no matter how many seats that new arena has the leeches at planet ice would definitely take the lions share of any profit, any team playing out of a rink run by those is on the back foot

We are not going to get these players, Sheffield have increased the season tickets price so this extra revenue to keep up with the arena teams didn't last long. We showed our hand too soon and other teams have just matched us. If you are a player and you read about increase in revenue for players wages, what stopping them asking bit more.

Agreed. I'll believe it when I see it that we'll spend the money on a better roster. I think its more realistic to think we're paying increased cost and expansion of the seating. Im guessing 400 extra seats and approx 30 pounds of revenue each fan (12k a game) will be the driver.

Agreed. Id sooner put mosey on 3rd line fwd, sign a replacement D man and have the flexibility to drop him into D incase of injury. Priority for me is forming a new first line and moving on from a good few samey forwards. The luxury of 4 spares is madness. Must cost a bomb. Id sooner a game changer in the ranks that costs more. Only priority resigning in forwards for me are barrow and brandt.
