I live over in San Diego, and have watched their AHL team (Gulls) quite regularly. Tickets START at just over $30 (£25), but that gets you nosebleeds at the top of a 3 tier, 18,000 capacity arena.
Tickets closer to the ice with a similar view to Devils games will set you back far, far more.
Average attendance is approx 7000, so the reality is watching a lower-half team in a half-empty rink.
Despite current ‘woes’, I’d choose a night at the Devils every time!!! (and did over Christmas, watching them 5 times on my visit back to Wales!)

What they had last season and what they're getting this season is I believe around a 50% drop, but yes obviously as there's virtually no TV coverage of British Ice Hockey at all but that's not the fault of CCFC, questions need to be asked of people who run Ice Hockey in the UK not compare with the biggest sport in the world and their share of sky money. Maybe the marketing of Ice Hockey leaves a lot to be desired.
Their overheads are obviously much higher than the equivalent down the Devils so hard to absorb. Getting rid of 18 or so high earning low performing players, running with a smaller squad and utilising youth from the academy was a big risk as well as recruiting a young inexperienced manager.
They struck it lucky with the manager who has been a breath of fresh air and has moulded a young hungry team eager to impress and together they have exceeded all expectations and gave a no increase to s/t and match day prices promise, take a look now..top of league, crowds bigger than last season and great football on display from some young, hungry local lads..a winning formula without a doubt.

Leaving something you love ain’t easy mate, I’m not happy with whats happening but I will be renewing as the Devils are a huge part of my life as they are with many others, you haven’t fallen off any fence bud you just care and sometimes caring comes with baggage. If this was my club and I had to make these decisions then the least I would do is to let the people who care, that i also care about them and that they really are the backbone of this club. As I said earlier in a post loyalty is a two way thing, and if it ain’t then it ain’t worth jack shit, anyway roll on next season, this one is done for me it’s now just a case of going thru the motions, watching some hockey and hoping the sun will show its face. I’d rather pay the extra couple of quid and watch the team I’ve followed for 10+ years. The quality won’t be anywhere near as good, but when I have invested 100s of hours (like many others on here who are now probably in the 1000s!) you cannot break the connection. Prices increase, but my love for this hockey club will not be deterred (whether I agree with the increase or not)

None is this is like for like, when Cardiff city are top of the premier league in 2 years with a season ticket waiting list of over 100 thousand like Arsenal , let’s see if they still sell their season tickets for 3 pence or whatever, and why did someone mention Glamorgan, they get about 300 people fior a 4 day game , comparing the devils with football and cricket or rugby is pointless, and Glammy get over a million a year from the ecb
I've been to a few vitality blast games and the hundred competion, both are 1 day games and pretty much sellouts think capacity is 17000, thats where the money is made, the 4 day game is just pocket money judging by the crowds to pay the staff of glam ccc absolutely no intrest in that. 1 day or nothing for me .
I think what we are seeing with this thread is that the initial outcry has been repeated and arguments made time and again, and that now things that aren't necessarily 100% relevant are being raised because of the Devils' performances on the ice.
We are coasting to the Playoffs now, and I'm not sure a lot of people have faith that we will do anything at POFW. So....in the vacuum of anything to get excited about we are reaching at straws to keep our voices heard.
