How is it a PR blunder when we haven't heard anything official from the club and only have one side of the story?
And, I would say the story on social media is slightly different to what has been posted on here.

For what it's worth, I once posted something on here that Todd wasn't happy about and he asked to speak to me about it. I didn't complain about it on social media. I went to see him, he explained his view and I could see why he felt so annoyed about it. I apologised, he accepted my apology and we moved on.

Well, that's not going to happen, if anybody thinks I am apologising for my opinions, and grovelling for the pleasure of handing extra cash over they will be waiting a long time.

The last two ticket price rises have been a higher percentage rise for concessions which shows the direction of travel for the club, you have done your bit and now we want to replace you with bigger spenders.

The EIHL tried this a few years back at POFW and it backfired on them, having to curtain off the empty seats so it looked full on the TV coverage. We all know who runs the show at the EIHL so this tactic is no surprise to us here in Cardiff

The club management do not like this highlighted as they may not have instant replacements for all of the concessions so the price rises appear to be slowly pushing out the customers who have limited funds for leisure activities. I get it, as a business decision it makes sense to maximise income per seat, but morally it stinks, no DEI policy here then
Last season I paid in full 514.00 ish for silver concession worked out 16.06 tkt this season unable to pay in full so it's 644.00 plus 25.00 works out 20.90 tkt unless my figs are wrong as I'm old it's up 4.84 tkt but determined to renew as its the 40th anniversary , as I been at the devils since the first season. If anyone thinks my figs are wrong let me know please. And be happy to be corrected.

Having owners that are clear and have been clear from day one that this is a “passion project” has to be embraced. Personal attacks about greed shouldn’t be accepted by anyone.
IF the club have blocked someone in order to have a conversation then I don’t agree with that but there aren’t many ownership groups that are trying to be as transparent as ours. I hate the logo. I hated the rebrand. I will always hate the rebrand (mainly because I’m old) but I completely appreciated the transparency in which they approached it (after the big reveal). I also appreciated Todd fronting up to the playoff ticketing farce a few years back. No one else did that. He’s done the same with season tickets now. They also offered Jody the opportunity to speak in person about his concerns, we’ve now got SK on here offering a view. I don’t see how they can run this club with any more transparency.

We don’t have to like it and to Gwen’s point, it’s a purely personal choice to renew your season ticket or not. 35 pages of this is what makes this forum brilliant but also shows its weaknesses with some disappointing opinions. An offer of a private chat and also the ability to reach out to SK privately on here, seems also available - might be the best course of action from here on in.

I don’t meet the players, I don’t know any of them, I don’t get involved with any of that kind of thing. I never have done since 1986, but I did meet SK in Grenoble, he spoke to my family for 5 mins purely about hockey, the fun he was having, the pain he felt with going through coaches at a rate of knots and the sheer passion was almost tangible. I get the frustrations on both sides but sometimes I wonder if we forget how good we’ve got it as Devils fans.

I’m pretty certain that the outcome was that Finny listened and felt the need to apologise. I don’t think he was summonsed so he could go in and apologise. I definitely can’t imagine Finny grovelling - he strikes me as a stubborn so and so - no offence Finny, I don’t know you mate. You’ve got strong views, that are well formed but you also seem able to back down when required. I can’t imagine a world where Finny gets told to attend a meeting so he can apologise or else! I’d buy a ticket for that event if that was the case. Box office!

I think the devils are very fortunate to have the current ownership group, and from listening to podcasts it seems like the players are looked after a lot better than by some other clubs

Thread ultimately boils down to 2 points:-

1. Your appetite/ability to fork out another 20% during a cost of living crisis. I can, but I’m not - financially I don’t agree with anyone whacking a 20% premium onto anything regardless of how emotionally invested in the product.

2. Forward looking expectations, for those that are stumping up the additional 20% (which we are told is going into the team), what are your expectations and measurements of success for next season ???

Are you going to be happy with another 3rd/4th place finish?

What does 20% on top of this season look like ??

I have renewed mine, thought the increase was a bit steep before realising it was about £3-30 per game which I already stated is only about half a pint, my expectations are to be entertained and to be competitive. If we finish 3/4th then obviously I would like to be better, but in reality my main priority is to be entertained and to compete, which with a Thommo picked team, who knows what Cardiff is about, hopefully my expectations can be realised. Having owners who take time out to explain where we hope to go with this team, and where the extra income will go and are contactable is a big plus, so I’m in for next season and look forward to see who goes, who stays, and seeing some new faces. Don’t know what the last line means what does 20% on top look like.

Fans don’t feel like they are unimportant, fans know they are unimportant that’s truly obvious now, take it or Sod off is the latest news on the street. The club has moved on from loyalty, caring, and being customer friendly, the New Kids on the Block are where it is now, come on guys get with the program, we are no longer one unit fighting for the same cause we are now us, them, those, and these. Those who have and those who don’t and if you are one of those unfortunately who don’t, then good night Vienna it’s time for you to go.

I am assuming this comment by you wannabe no longer stands lol

1. I don’t think anyone likes paying more for anything but that’s the age we live in now unfortunately, I am willing to pay the extra 20% as I think a season ticket still offers great value for money
2. I would be happy with a team pretty much the same as this season, anything above 4th I look at as a bonus, I have found this season the most entertaining since Covid by a county mile, if I was still watching Pete Russell hockey my views might be different

Seen as SK brought up the concept, I thought season ticket sharing was an idea worth developing.

Maybe something to explore with their IT / ticketing partners, but a facilitated fan2fan resale option could help cuts costs and save time compared with what I understand from previous Devils Q&As to be a mostly manual buyback and/or live stream swap process. It could even be a revenue generator if it's done on a fair revenue share basis in lieu of a handling fee.

It would take some of the risk out of such a big financial commitment by fans.

Nice to see that some organisations can relate to the current economic climate and understand the impact to their fans during a cost of living crisis!
Helped by their attendance and arena size in Nottinghams case, Manchester have had a good season and quite a few sellouts , so hopefully keep it going with the extra fanbase they've been having , so obviously dont want to rock the boat with a very small arena. And not forgetting storm are in talks of getting a bigger / better rink so will need to keep their fans sweet.

Thought the planning has been agreed for Storms new home a 3,000 seater in the Trafford Centre.
