Been rumoured for ages but that's an amazing signing for Swindon. With BOC at Swindon and (we assume) Batch at Bristol, those are two big signings

STEELERS | Simms finds dictionary! The Rust confirm some players that have multi-year deals going into the summer: Dowd, Tansey, and Ed Sheeran.

But the real ground shaking news is the use of 'Messrs' in the announcement. Sources are conflicted as to whether the work experience student has been allowed to type up the social media announcement, or whether Simms confused Kelly's accent for French and was trying to appear educated.

Before the day gets away from me, lets have a quick look around the EIHL for who has been confirmed as having a multi-year deal running into 25/26. Info is taken from EP, so its not gospel. I won't cover Fife until they confirm they are in the EIHL next season - which I don't think will happen if I'm honest.

GIANTS | Young two-way Mitchell-King is the only player listed on EP as having a deal into 25/26.

BLAZE| Future prospect Brynley Capps,17, who dressed 52 times last season for Coventry is listed as having a deal for 25/26, along with 20-year-old blue-liner Archie Hazeldine who will be in Team GB before long.

STORM | Manchester have three on their roster going into the summer: netminder Alex Oldale and forward Tyler Hinam are joined by pantomime villain, and all-round sack of sh*t, Loren Ulett.

FLAMES | Look out for the news items confirming 'new' signings Kyle Locke and Lewis Hook in due course. Locke spent the end of last season injured and in the Jacuzzi at the Flames' leisure center, ahead of the second year of his contract. Lewis has managed to hook himself a deal that runs into NEXT season.

STARS | Retained are one half of their NM tandem, Jarrett "Cheese" Fiske; EIHL D-man of the year and Dundee captain Drydn Dow; and young forward Jonny McBean

STEELERS | In addition to the above, its interesting to note that Sam Tremblay is listed as having a deal that runs into next season - but hasn't been included in the Rust news announcement. Fox has been quoted as saying there will be some tough decisions to make after they returned to their usual recent history of winning nothing, in 2024/25.

CLAN | Clan start, numbers wise, with the strongest roster announced for 25/26. Veterans Steve Seigo on D, and forward Ryan Schwartz enter the second year of deals, whilst 'still can't spell Devon or Cider' Deven Sideroff has security going into 26/27. They also have backup NM Lucas Brine and elder of the Hazeldine brothers, Joseph on contract for 25/26.

PANTHERS | Whilst Clan might have the numbers, the best re-signing for 25/26 so far goes to the Panthers for securing Jason Grande for another year. Bugger.

STEELERS | Simms nails down Cross-Checking Machine and D-man

Looking to add to his personal best of 13 crosschecks in one incident, Cole Shudra will visit the Vindico at least 3 times next season as he signs on for another year in an orange jumpsuit.

Dominic Cormier also signs a 2-year deal at the House of Rust. Two years in Sheffield, think I'd prefer HMP Parc!

So an update after the BH weekend...

STARS | Dundee add young D-man Jackson Desouza to their roster for 25/26. He just finished his first year pro with Lillehammer where he put up 14 points (1/13) in 46 games.

STORM | CJ Garcia has departed the bus shelter and signed for the Steeldogs in the NIHL

Manchester also have a signing announcement scheduled for 8am tomorrow.

PANTHERS | Nottingham have secured a D-pair as both Cooper Zech and Zsombor Garat extend into second years in the Midlands. Garat put up 23 points in 53 regular season games, and had a +/- of 37! Zech contributed 25 points (7/18) in the 32 regular season games he iced and 7 assists in his 4 playoff matches.

Ryan Tait joins the Steelers from Guildford. He was in my top 5 players from other teams in the league I would have liked to see join us. Fastest skater in the league and often creates havoc against us.
