I think the owners want a sustainable business model which allows Devils to be in the mix for winning something each season. It’s tricky in Elite league given such different sizes of rink. They don’t have the same access to match night revenue as they would if they were able to get 4-6k fans in. As a result it’s hard to compete with bigger teams. The model has been about treating players right and creating goodwill and good reputation within the hockey community. I think they will be disappointed with cup knockout because despite Belfast advantage from structure, along with playoffs it’s our most realistic shot at a title. League is almost impossible as the quality of the lineups Belfast and Sheffield can build really presses home over a full season.

Exactly. That is why sell outs are so critical to the business model to be "competitive ". Probably more so than the arena teams to be able to compete at the same level!

We got 2 fourth lines a third line and a second line, no first line, I’m afraid Thompson will be going the way of every other coach since lord, new coach and another rebuild to look forward too in may
Sounds like the Calgary Flames! Who are technically the worst team in the NHL this current season.

At least the Owners will be used to the disappointment and frustration....similar situation with their beloved home team, and their actual team!

So in 8 of our last 9 games we’ve scored 11 goals in total in regulation if you exclude empty netters. That’s woeful and it’s putting too much pressure on the goalies and defence.

I looked at the game sheet earlier and we had Brandt and Davies on the third line. I’m sorry but that should only be happening if we’re decimated by injuries, which we aren’t. Perfect example of our lack of depth.

Our recent goal scoring percentage is running around 4%, that’s 1 goal for every 25 shots. It doesn’t really matter how good your defence is if it takes around 100 shots on goal to win a 4-3 game!

Our owners will be as unhappy with things as we are. We are back to the old chestnut, our revenue stream while at the Vindico cannot match that of Sheffield, Belfast and Nottingham and recruitment will reflect that. As Jenks said, Brandt and Davies on the third line reveals our lack of depth. However, if the roster we recruited was built on being a physical and entertaining one , then that appears to have gone out of the window too in recent games.
