Looks encouraging, we could rotate a solid set of 3 line D if Symmo does sign, which is a luxury a lot of teams cant afford.

Also looks like Adams has almost got his two D men, cant wait to see who they will be :D

Big season for Symonds. There are not a lot of decent British D-men around and I am convinced that he has the ability to become one of them.

To do that however, he needs to make the next step this season. With Stoney gone he needs to step into the role of the dependable player who will not make a mistake. Too many times last season he went for the optimistic pass rather than clearing his zone and worrying about niceties later.

If he does this he will be a really good signing.

Alex is one of, it seems, a much smaller group of British dmen to be in position of playing in the Elite League next season. He did make one or two stand-out errors last season but he is growing into a solid dependable blue-liner. With a 6 dman unit this season, he will have more opportunity to learn from the guys. Hope this is Alex's season - best of luck.

I would rather they wait until a player has signed before announcing anything, don't see the point of telling us they're talking to players

Hope Alex re-signs he has so much potential and talent, he is a local lad and has local passion, if Alex gets his head down trains hard and listens to good advise, then i truelly believe he could become the next Stephen Cooper for the Devils, he really could become that good in time.

just wondering, how would it play if Alex didn't sign, would we rely on a young brit coming through, or would G bring in another 5/6 year experienced d man from somewhere else in the country.

Saw Ben down the rink last week, he has signed but he doesn't know when it'll be announced and why they haven't announced it yet.

Perhaps the Club is waiting for Alex's contract to be finalised and maybe they will make a dual announcement of signings with a big piece about Ben and Alex? :D
