Where do you think the league/teams will go from here??

With recent events how do u think teams like hull, newcastle, cardiff etc will go with the rest of the season?? I personally think teams could see a few guys shipped out, having most teams gone for the physical approach obviously the league has set a benchmark at what wont be tolerated and lets be honest Brads incident was pretty much just that an incident!!!!! I cant see most teams carrying on this season with how it has started.....

What does everyone else think???

I hope im wrong but i fear for the elite league and british ice hockey after this, i think teams like us hull newcastle will continue to stick to our gameplan and will suffer for it more bans me thinks, If vother gets 12 games for this then the league is doomed or at least cardiff will be if simms has anything to do with it, there have been worse players in the league this year sharp out and out goon cant play but its ok because he can suck a golf ball through a hoes pipe just the way bob n simms like it, todd griffiths watching clips of his fights last couple of days he is way more vindictive than voth, kozak need i say more,(what would have happened if voth wiped blood from his skate let alone skated through it).....

Bottom line elite have shot themselves in their foot 12 games for voth there will be more and worse incedents than this so is it to be they let it go and just punnish the devils, or will we see bigger bans no players end of british hockey apart from simms special squeelers and cov to fight for the top 2.

Totally agree. I think the league have screwed themselves with this decision, there will be more incidents like this no doubt.... Will the league give out the same punnishment to the next guy or back track on this decision?? Ive seen the kozac saga admittedly on youtube which isnt the best camera and I dont think it was that bad, i dont agree 1 bit with what he done but ive most certainly seen worse before go unpunished...... I think a couple of teams will be looking around in the next couple of weeks for players and quite a few departing!!!! The league needs to live or die by its decisions and i personally think they are taking a huge step backwards with these punishments...... Clearly there are alot of people unhappy with current league chiefs, could it be changed at all???

I think the EIHL has lost all credibility if anyone sees that fight and the punishment meted out. It's run by a bunch of amateurs. On the other hand, why not let this be the point where some teams say that we've had enough of these plonkers and form a new league. I would be happy with a professionally run 12 team league next year comprising of Cardiff, Manchester, Coventry, Hull, Basingstoke, Edinburgh, Guildford, Bracknell, Milton Keynes, Dundalk, Fife and Dundee, even if it means watching hockey with a few less imports. All these teams operate out of smaller arenas, so there should be a more level playing field all round. Let Sheffield and the arena teams play amongst themselves - Sky won't be interested in a 4 team league!! Worth considering?

Yeh agree to certain extent with that, something definately needs to be done.... If those teams did merge in to 1 league the only concern i would have is the quality on the ice dropping.... I personally think the elite amateur league has got a good number of imports and brits on every team and wouldnt want that to change.... What about when we move in to an arena??? Do we move back leagues, could we have as much say as sheff and notts etc?? I really cant see how the league are going to get out of this corner!!!! I certainly wont be going to the play offs or any away games except basingstoke coz ive got a soft spot for them :D

Just valid questions.

Valid question, but the answer is, if the Cardiff coach had put a complaint in on the night, the incident may well have been reviewed by a disciplinary committee.

I am not sure if they can make a complaint after 48 hours following an incident but it is understood Cardiff has put in an appeal against the 12 match ban and 12 match suspension.

A reply from Bob on EIHL forum Even the puppetmaster/ league conttroller doesn t know the rules( He hasn t made them all up yet )This league cannot go on

Hopefully the league comes to it's cence's and drop's the ban down to 2/3 games. Steelers are a joke and i hope the rest of the fans from other teams in the league let them know this season.

I think now that the league has started and the effort that went into helping the Bison, all teams will see through the season in the Elite League.

I just hope the league agree to our appeal over Voth's suspension

The league will go on theres no doubting that!!!! However are they going to keep handing out these punishments when ever theres an incident?? I honestly think the league will see a couple of departing players if the officials are going to continue calling things this way!!!!

There were meetings in the off season re teams signing physical players and the zero tolerance was dropped, now they have back tracked after teams filling their rosters with feisty guys who like to play physical.......
