The ice pad looked huge on the webcast. We were way too far apart and too many high risk passes.
Shame really you would have thought we would be better.

the passing was bad , if they was playing eihl team, they would have made them pay for theyer bad passing , very slow play , dump the puck in and chase it , Waller strait at the goalie , to many strait shots, how many times did the sticks go flying out of hands, how many times did the puck go flying out of the rink. we never looked dangerous, a bit of dirty play by GB in the last period, but saying that they probably pissed off, i would be. bowns had a howler start, and finally, P R on the bench no motivation what so ever, maybe a foreign coach with fresh eyes, will see better potential in and outside the squad

To many veterans unfortunately, at least being relegated the up and coming youngsters will have something to play for next time they are picked in a way of promotion.

i think you will find that not correct.
a quick google/ x search and you will find
  • Team GB role: This is a high-level national team position. While national team coaching can sometimes involve stipends, honorariums, or be combined with club duties, Russell’s overall career is professional, and he is compensated for his work across roles. He has led GB for many years (over 75 games as head coach by 2025) alongside club jobs.

In short, ice hockey coaching at his level in the UK and internationally is a paid profession for him, not volunteer work.

Peter Russell (often called Pete Russell) gets paid for his coaching work, including with Team GB ice hockey
