Devils v Panthers - Sun 15th

Another Sunday and another late faceoff, this time the game didn't finally start until 9:05pm due to problems with the Devils kit on its return journey from Belfast.
Unfortunately the game was again marked by another poor refereeing display from Darnell, when you go to a player to tell him not to do something again he is instantly going to know to do it again! The game could have got seriously out of hand, by the third period Miller and Danny Meyers (i think could have been another D man) were trading Cross checks to the face - how one of them didnt get seriously hurt by being that silly is still unknown...
With two of the goals coming from poor line changes, the usual steady ship Franny runs on the bench came apart in the second period. However the Devils were always in the game and if it wasnt for a post and a god knows what keeping the puck out late in the third they would have got something from the game.
Miller was the stand out player again over the weekend and really looks to have settled into the team after a couple of dodgy looking weekends previously. After taking a lot of criticism from the fans over the last week or so, Romfo played very well across the weekend, possibly his best weekend in a Devils jersey despite the 2 losses.
However it was another frustrating weekend, the Devils look to desperately need Mark Smith back to give opposition teams something to think about. With Adam's recent comments in the Echo about looking to replace himself should the right player become available it will be interesting to see if anything changes after a 0 point weekend.
Comedy moment of the night was Richardson going from doing a chicken dance to being sprawled on the floor then going to the bench whinging 'oh look ref the nasty man hurt me'. Perhaps he won't be so quick to take on Devils players after the beating he took...
Final score though was Cardiff 3-5 Nottingham...
