Hi guys,

The Devils will be supporting the Poppy Appeal and their own registered charity, the DCF on sunday by wearing special Remembrance Day jerseys against the Belfast Giants. The official press release can be found underneath.

After the game, the Jerseys will be auctioned off with the funds going to the DCF and the money from SOHB tickets going to the Royal British Legion.

Whilst I support the Devils and the DCF in its support of local issues, I cannot fathom how the club have reached a decision to raise money off the back of the poppy appeal and hand it to a different charity.

If we were wearing pink jerseys to say we were in support of Cancer Research, but then handed all the money over to another charity I don't think it would sit well with anyone, surely this is the same situation?

There is currently a thread running on the forums which can be found underneath, where members of the community have voiced their fustration at this decision.

What we don't want to do, is turn this into some sort of witch hunt, but we need to make the club realise what a mistake they have made.

As someone has mentioned on the forums, this isn't an occasion or a public holiday, it's support for a worthwhile charity that needs all the support it can get.

Chris.
