I agree, the arena management along with security should deal with behavior issues, stewards are basically safety and game marshall's.
In the WNIR I myself being bar/hospitality manager and security would approach troublesome fans and it was 'calm it or out, your choice'. No conversation, just answer.
I have to admit through all the years I've been watching and involved with the Devils the game itself has become less aggressive and the new generation of fans more aggressive.
I'm not saying all the new generation of fans not at all but it's mainly them I see around me, swearing, gestures and non compliance of masks, there are some oldies to.
Never went to BBT as I was in Greece but I can honestly say even though they are trying to promote the new era of ice hockey as family friendly the WNIR was a warmer feeling of a family fan base.
This isn't a rose tinted glasses view, this is from a professional working and fan point of view.
And on a personal point to do with booze, as stated before I asked the bar manager "do you have a bitter" they replied "yes pale ale", that's not bitter. Last week i opted for a Guinness, again the bar manager served me, they put the plastic pint on the drip tray and opened the tap and let it pour at height until pint was full.....and this is the bar manager at the end of the game with nobody else waiting to be served. I would have torn a member of my staff a new one if I saw them doing that.
Think the whole bar team need to go on a bar course especially at the price per pint we pay.
