That was a very gritty but deserved win tonight. I reckon in recent seasons with so many things going against us we lose that. But tonight we battled and battled and battled and got the two points we deserved.

I think I’ll leave the comments about the referees to others but good lord I can’t remember many nights like that….

The EHIL should be issuing a statement of apology tomorrow, but it will never happen.

I absolutely will never say anything about an official unless I have to because it’s a thank less job.

But f*ck me that was beyond disgraceful

I don't even believe they were officals, I'm almost convinced that storm just grabbed four random idiots on the way down the M4 and thought they'd get away with it

Great to get the two points. That's a very decent storm team who have gelled together now and they will cause many upsets this year. Not looking forward to visiting Altrincham.

Josh MacDonald is a heck of a player, want him to be a devil for a long time.

As for the officiating, lots of arms in the air and shouts from the crowd tonight, but most for nothing. The only bizarre call I saw was the delayed penalty on Perlini that lead to Storm's second goal, even Bownsy was half way to the bench. But Brandt's call was right, some others I can remember looked 50/50. It is what it is, apart from Brandt our discipline was good tonight in a game that could have boiled over.

I’ve seen some poor officiating this season but that takes the biscuit tonight. They are actually bringing the UK game into disrepute. Ulett was quiet throughout but in his one temper tantrum, he whacks a stick that‘s lying on the ice, which then flies at head height and hits Bowns, right in front of the referee, and doesn’t get called for unsportsmanlike conduct? That was just one of many and they’ve turned face offs into a complete and utter farce. A gritty win, not pretty but we got the job done.

Nope, I’m afraid it wasn’t. You could see on the multiple replays on webcast it was not a check to the head . Commentary team called it out as well.
The call on Sandford was poor and the official actually looks at the incident where the stick that was on the ice was purposely shot at Bownsey.
You also have the both sets of players shaking their heads at the linos continually inability to drop a puck on the face off .
Yep , shit show

Worst refereeing performance in the last 2 seasons. That was rancid! Some of the calls on us were laughable and the non call before storms second goal where bowns head was nearly taken off by a thrown stick...I've never seen Ritchie so vocal with the officials. I didn't see the replay of the Brandt incident...was that a fair call or another roll of the dice by the chuckle brothers?

Excellent game though played at a high tempo with some good physical hockey. Both netminders were great and we played great team defence. Busch was my MOM he was a defencive behemoth, got a goal and was generally all over the ice...especially on the penalty kill. Macdonald (some silky moves) and mcwilliam (bossed the blue line) were also standouts...and how good is zach O'brien!? Our powerplay was also brilliant tonight, night and day from last season.

Storm have a really good team this season but have some tools in their roster....today it was Durflingers turn after Ullet last time. He's actually one of their best players so was poetic justice he was in the box for going after Busch when he scored on the powerplay.

I'm not sure what you've been drinking but it's definitely effected your eyesight if you think the call on Brandt was correct, it was by far the worst use of video reviews and officiating I've ever seen.
No pal, what I’ve been drinking is fine, I’m saying the exact opposite if you’ve read my earlier post, it was beyond.

I quoted someone saying it was right in confusion.
it’s was f*cking ridiculous

From the replay I've seen, the initial point of contact is not the head. But then Brandt's upper body contacts and drives the head in to the boards. That's checking to the head for me.

4 officials... re phrase that . 4 muppets on the ice ullet slams a stick from distance and clobbers bowns.. beyond belief it wasn't called or any devil didn't have a word with ullet. Best clanger was when storm scored a perfect goal back of net and the ref calls a penalty shot. You couldn't make it up . If I was one of those officials tonight I would be embarrassed..do the league have assessors watching like the old days ? If they did they be in front of the lge officials tomorrow and explain their poor performance. Worst ever in my time watching the devils..oh and a great win against a difficult storm side and bad officiating.

Well played Devils tonight even with some big players out. Great to see Mosey and Carruth back. The Brandt hit was not to the head - watched it several times. the hit is shoulder to chest, momentum makes it look like the head is hit. Officiating tonight some of the worst I have seen, almost lost control in the third. So many calls wrong or just plain missed.
