Free Hockey in Cardiff

Saturday 21st May will be a free hockey day in Cardiff, as the EIHA Rec Southern Conference is well truly in town. And it will be a crucial weekend, as the three teams at the bottom of the West table, will be battling it out, to try and secure a place in the West play-offs.
The action starts with the Cardiff Eagles hosting Solihull Vipers at 4:30pm. The two teams met back in March, up in the Midlands and on that occasion, the Vipers came out on top, with a final score of 11-7.
The match will be followed at 7pm, when the Cardiff Ice Hounds (who have already qualified for the play-offs, along with the Army Air Corps Ice Hawks) host the RAF Bluewings. The two teams have yet to face each other this season, as the Bluewings' home fixture was postponed due to 'service' commitments. The Bluewings have only won one match this season, on the road in Solihull. But their fitness and tenacity generally mean that the Ice Hounds will still have to play sensibly, if they want to chalk up another convincing win.
