It's pretty easy to pluck names out of thin air off elite prospects from other leagues that would be notable signings. (It's my favourite thing to do...guilty), however don't under estimate the difference between playing in a semi-pro league to a professional league.
Tim Spencer plays in this league at present (Ex-Sheffield) and put up double the amount of goals he has anywhere else (

Also, Blair Dubyk was over a point a game in this league, but plays at NIHL 2 level in the UK (

The difference between this type of league and any pro league is catastrophic.
On the subject of players in leagues that are well beneath them - look no further than Matty Davies, who's opted to play in the NIHL rather than our own EIHL (where he captained Manchester). He currently has 24 points in 5 games.
What a waste of a talent.
